Agree 100%. If you are making a purchase and already thinking about resale, that's baking a compromise into your decision making process. If you are buying for yourself, then you are compromising with a stranger. That's sad and you'll end up regretting it.
Does anyone know how to turn the basic EVSE from 100 to 50? I looked at mine and its not at all obvious, although maybe it will be more so when I plug it in.
Just in case anyone missed my comment earlier, I did notice the outlet to be blemished from heat when I pulled the plug and inspected...
Now I am curious why you are seeing 2.5 and I am seeing 3.5. That's a big delta and our cars have similar mileage and same battery. Are you driving in a lot of stop-and-go and/or standstill traffic?
I have 2022 RWD with 6850 miles and 20 inch wheels, acquired in Feb of this year. The "all trip data" shows 3.5 mi/kWh.
You need to be careful in sourcing this data as clicking "All Trip Data" defaults to last trip taken. Click "Total" to see the data from when you first acquired the car.

I had same 996 as yours (with IMS bearing failure) and sold it on live auction for about 80% what I paid, after 12 years of driving it. Was like driving a $100K+ car for free (apart from maintenance) for 12 years. I am not complaining.
Can you (or anyone) explain how to manually adjust the EVSE from 100 to 50%? I just took a look at mine and its not obvious. I did notice on removing the plug that it seems the outlet is blemished from excess heat (just discolored, not melted).
i think i am in same boat as @Mikegrr - i got the charger included with vehicle, no LCD. Now I am wondering the diff and if I inadvertently lucked out that I did NOT get an upgraded charger?
I'm wondering why I am not seeing the effects shared in this threat (but grateful about it). I plugged my car in last night and it charged to 85% (the default) from midnight to 9AM.
Is there something I am missing or is this nasty "enhancement" coming for me down the road?
I just drove my 22 RWD from San Diego to Long Beach (about 90 miles), spent the weekend and probably drove 20+ more in town, then returned home with about 75 miles of range left. I had it fully charged before leaving. There's something wrong with your vehicle. I don't see where you provide...
Thank you, I guess I am not as dumb as I thought as I came to same conclusion. I guess I'll just have to see how it impacts my daily routine. And whatever other good ideas come from this great group of owners.
I am a helpless idiot when it comes to this topic and wonder if someone can dumb it down for me. I didn't buy an upgraded charger for my Taycan, just what was included. And I only charge the vehicle at night on a program that starts at midnight when rates are lowest.
How will this change...
@JDNEPA I got as far as your step #1 above. The hotspot is inactive and said I need a contract to activate it. This must refer to what you are paying $20 for, and I am not inclined to pay that for this benefit. But I will try step #2 to see if Porsche can help resolve the 3011 error code...
Funny how one feature could irritate one owner but delight another. I am coming off a 12 yo 911S that was bereft of any tech at all. The feature I liked the best in that car was that I could simply tap the turn signal rather than lock it in, and it would indicate my lane change. I did not...
there is a lot in your story that doesn't apply to me, but I do get the error code on Spotify registration so if you have a quick fix for that, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I can access it via CarPlay but its a pain to activate when I'm driving and I hope for the day I can say "Hey Porsche...
