  1. A short Porsche Dashcam review

Dash cam installed today by Jake from Dash Cam Installs and have to say that he did a great job. My car was pre-wired but nevertheless, it was still a fiddly job but took around an hour all told which is considerably less than the main dealer were quoting. Have to say that I am very happy with...
  2. A short Porsche Dashcam review

I’m on the brink of getting the Porsche Dashcam fitted to my Cayenne but was mega shocked at the installation costs - 2½ hours at £289 an hour. That’s with pre-wiring in place too! I’ve found a local company who specialise in camera installations who can fit the Porsche cameras (which I’ll buy...
  3. 45K? How low can it go (depreciation)?

This will be a game changer and will definitely add longevity to the Taycan (and other EVs). I suspect that Porsche will make it difficult for independent garages to switch out the batteries so will be able to charge vast sums in labour costs. That said, hopefully if you get Porsche to do it...
  4. 45K? How low can it go (depreciation)?

I'm not saying that they will be undesirable, more a case of less desirable the older and nearer to the 8 year battery warranty expiry. Would you buy an 8 year old Taycan knowing that to replace the battery would cost more than the car is potentially worth? I certainly wouldn't. Would I buy...
  5. 45K? How low can it go (depreciation)?

Well, this makes interesting reading and I completely follow what Shmee was saying. I bought my highly specced Taycan Turbo privately from a dealer in May 2023 - given the poor range I was getting, coupled with the vast depreciation, I made the decision to off-load it back to another dealer in...
  6. Thinking of trading my 2022 Taycan for a 2024 Macan

I feel your pain as I went through a similar thought process back in January and came to the conclusion that no matter how good the car and the driving experience, losing money hand over fist was not something I wanted to continue experiencing. Like you say, not only is there the depreciation...
  7. Taycan Turbos Have Lost Up To 100,000 Value in 4 Years

I am sure many people CAN afford one now due to the rapid depreciation! ?
  8. Help me - I’m Scared!!?!

I completely agree with W1NGE, the Taycan is an absolute marvel of a car - the acceleration and poise is just unbelievable HOWEVER, so is the depreciation. I owned my Taycan Turbo for all of 8 months but struggled to see much over 200 miles of range, indeed for the latter part of my ownership I...
  9. UK service & costs

I paid way less than that back in December at EXACTLY the same dealership - total cost was £525.97. Incidentally, my Taycan is no more. I bit the bullet and swapped to a 2 month old Porsche Cayenne S with a nice V8 petrol engine - no more range anxiety for me. That said, I’d happily go back...
  10. Service & maintenance - experiences in the UK

It may have been underpowered but it was really nice being able to jump in and whack the heated seats on and the air conditioning without keep looking at the range...
  11. Service & maintenance - experiences in the UK

So, I had the car serviced and the recall campaigns done (WMP5 and WPN8). Total cost was £526 including VAT. Had a brand new 2.0 Macan S for a few days - nice car but underpowered - preferred the 2.9 Macan GTS that Porsche Leeds gave me when they looked at my Taycan brake issue.
  12. Service & maintenance - experiences in the UK

I’m off to Rybrook at Wycombe today - car will be having the first service and is on for two days so will let you know my thoughts on the experience. Totally agree with you on JLR - I tried Reading, Slough and Aylesbury all of who were pretty underwhelming with Slough the worst and Aylesbury a...
  13. UK service & costs

I’ve just booked my 2021 Turbo in for its first service at the new dealership at High Wycombe - been quoted £578 including VAT. Will read through the recent prices on here for comparison…
  14. Porsche’s valuation of Taycan

I've had my late '21 Taycan Turbo for 6 months now. I bought it from a main dealer here in the UK for what was a decent price considering the age, spec and mileage and in comparison to other cars available at that time. I love the car but am not so happy at the range that's available...
  15. Turbo vs Turbo S

I have a MY22 Turbo which was ordered with the PCCB’s by the previous owner - does anyone know what the cost was for these as I’m intrigued given that you can’t order a Turbo with them now… The car has a number of ‘tasty’ extras that I certainly wouldn’t have splashed out on, so I’m grateful to...
  16. Bottomed out on parking lot dip and raised humps. Windshield wiper reservoir damaged

I had some concerns with ride height driving around some of the streets near where I live, then realised that 'Range' mode sits lower so popping it into 'Normal' mode gave extra clearance - voila, no more problems! :giggle:
  17. Spotted on Porsche home page, what is this?

I totally agree about being able to get in and out easier - this is the only car I've ever had where I had to go 'bum first' to get in!
  18. Spotted on Porsche home page, what is this?

Here are some pictures I took of the Mission E in Stuttgart while on a road trip back in 2018. Needless to say, I ended up buying the equivalent in production form as it was soooo nice!
  19. Dog seat covers?

That particular seat cover has gaps so that you can plug a lead into the seatbelt to stop your furry friend jumping out of the back and into the front. I bought said item but like I say, I've not used either and will resist temptation to do so for as long as possible. In theory I could...
  20. Dog seat covers?

I think it is supposed to go like this so your dog lies on the rear seat:
