Latest Nav Preferred Charging Operator settings

Maybe it will be rolled out globally after a period of stability in Europe. Would be uncharacteristic but blindingly obvious the right thing to do. Then again over here they’re making people prove they have issues in order to get 3892, not great for support simplicity or customer happiness 🤷‍♂️...

TSB: Complaints [AKA 'Navi Hangs'] About System Stability, Navigation Operation and Charge Planning in the PCM [software v. 3892] - May 26, 2026

Think you need to initiate @Tango22 complaining about nav crashing You may be aware but there is an enormous thread https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/eu-uk-ongoing-navigation-issues-solved-with-pcm-v3892.28704/

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Native PCM apple music and podcast apps work same as pre-update for me, still take a while to start up and randomly log out /log back in to Apple account! I’ve been using them along with pcm nav to test the update, but CarPlay will be daily screen again soon.

Ha, no concept of parallel processing then @Dabz?! In addition to printing time, it’s probably the video they do looking for things they can charge you for.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Great result @Rollep reminded to me to report that a 2 finger salute encouraged update of calendar app to version 8.0.1, the weather app is also at this version. Looks like the error I saw after WTG1 was the legal notice app, that’s still at 7.1.16, but OTA seems to be working ok.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

My early reports were positive and still all good @smoothound. Navigated west of London to Hackney and back over the weekend (thanks for that TfL) so it coped with routing/charger density there OK. Only thing preventing me from allowing smartmobilty to close the case is some infotainment OTAs...

    Porsche Connect Ending

If OVO’s EV tariff is similar to Octopus @JasMK could you delete it from their app and use a fixed cheap rate window instead (e.g. Octopus is 6 hours 23:30-05:30) with maximum SoC set by the car? I think Porsche charge too much for My Porsche given it’s not that great, although they probably...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Seems to remember preferences for the charger networks and minimum power that you set using the filter on the PCM nav. Looks like if you plan a route using the mobile app the option for preferred charging networks could be different and there’s no charging power filter on the app. PCM and...

Will verify @Murph7355 , using nav every time I drive it to test stability

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

Based on what my Porsche Centre did this is a Campaign (WTG1) rather than a user OTA. Their system uses the VIN to indicate when it’s available for each car, if a customer complains about the navigation system.

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

I will @chun (test route load for the north of England was pretty quick) Route to Palermo took around a minute would take longer calculating alternative routes. Route sent from app does show as “calculating route” momentarily but touching start route gets it loaded. Obviously not extensive...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

WTG1 done @Jasper4S, 4 hours rather than the 3 as a failed update at the end had to be repeated. No nav restarts on the 30 mins drive home (had 3 on the way there). See the photos for software versions and the only visual difference I’ve seen so far, charger power on the map and a filter for...

EU/UK: Ongoing navigation issues [Solved with PCM v3892]

WTG1 is being done while I wait here with laptop working from the Porsche Centre being supplied with coffee and snacks. Always reminds me why there’s a cost of entry into this brand. The number of staff flitting around is amazing.

Density of charging network in EU/UK is a strong theory @whitex, too much data for the zx81 pcm computer to handle

Any experience with the Litchfield ECU flash tune?

@prj has mentioned doing something couple of times in his perfect tune threads, recently here https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/part-3-the-quest-for-the-perfect-tune.25979/post-542185

Any experience with the Litchfield ECU flash tune?

It is cheaper but is it like for like? MapEV includes a cloned ASG module, Litchfield is software only. Modifying the original ASG is where warranty concerns arise, regardless of the software being returned to original. Other things MapEV do that is not mentioned by Litchfield is launch mode...
