Driving an E car from an ICE car takes a little getting used to since its acceleration is linear versus the gradual build-up of rpms in ICE engines. Once you're used to it, it can be rather intoxicating.
After driving the Caynne, the Taycan Turbo feels like a rocket pack strapped to your back. While the acceleration can be blindingly quick, it can be tempered by an unleaded foot. As for potholes, I've never had much luck avoiding tire replacements and wheel repairs with 21" wheels. I'd...
I had the opportunity to compare the Spyder rims outfitted on my Taycan 4s loaner with the 20" rims on my Taycan Turbo. There's a slight difference in better ride quality when it comes to the 20" rim setup. However, the Spyder rims and tires seem to offer a more planted and communicative feel...
Sorry to hear about the damage sustained to your Taycan. I would consider taking the vehicle to a certified Porsche body shop to obtain an estimate on the cost breakdown for specific parts and labor involved as well as the cost differential between the Porsche and independent body shop. Doing...
Have your insurance company come up with the assessment for diminished value and place the demand on the other party's insurance carrier. However, if you have already settled your claim, then it may be difficult to request additional compensation.
On a side note, besides being covered for the damage and loaner vehicle, make sure you get compensated for the diminished value because of the accident. You don't want to be surprised by a reduction in value, because the car was damaged when it comes time to either sell or trade in the vehicle.
The problem seemed have to stopped following an OTA update on the Merc. It's been eight months of worry-free sudden brake slamming but now I'm having to bring it in for servicing due to an active collision system fault warning.
I experienced the same issues. My Taycan's brake system, over time, exhibited less grip, a tendency to lurch, and longer pedal travel, requiring earlier anticipation and significant pedal pressure in order to bring the vehicle to a stop. My Porsche SA was able to replicate the braking...
I don't think this issue is isolated to just the Taycan. I experienced the collision avoidance system kicking in while driving my wife's Mercedes EQE. For no reason, it just decided to slam on the brakes while I was backing out of an empty parking lot. The problem was remedied by an OTA update.
Contact the service manager, Gunter Feldmeier, at Fremont Porsche. His team was able to diagnose and fix the braking issue similar to what you're experiencing with your Taycan.
Very pleased with my 2020 Turbo which is similar to what you're looking at, except for rear-wheel steering and a few other options. Does the Taycan listed come with the Bose or, even better, the Burmester stereo?
By the way, don't miss the 911 Turbo as it's better suited on the track; not...
I noticed the remaining mileage goes down less by disengaging the regen feature, which I tend to do for freeway driving. Try this if you haven't already.
It appears to be a poor paint match. I had a similar mishap at a BMW dealership that had their in-house body shop perform the correction. The repainted area ended up being a few shades off from the adjacent panels when seen under different ambient light. I ended up taking the vehicle to a...
I concur with TDinDC. Take it to the dealer and have them determine the extent of damage incurred behind the valence, if any. Since the damages will be covered by the other party's insurance, I would consider having the valence replaced rather than repaired.
