Which car gets more attention between Taycan and 911?

One of the selling points of a 911- GT's excepted- is high performance (potentially to supercar levels) without drawing any more attention than any other 2 door sports car.
Personally, I'd get more excited about encountering a run-of-the mill 1970s or earlier family saloon than any modern exotica

I think your Veyron is due for a new paint job or PPF. I know a shop that does excellent work if you need one.

For those folks that have owned/driven both cars, from your experience, which car would you say garnered more attention? (thumbs up, compliments, head turns, etc) And let’s exclude the GT3 because I feel like it should be in it’s own category.

I get thumbs up, and people wanting to talk, about equal in my '91 964 C2 and '20 Taycan 4S+. Both exceedingly fun Porsches!

I think there is something about the storm trooper design that catches the eye differently than even a bold paint color.

With a 64% sales tax rate on any 911 in Ireland – they are much rarer than a Taycan which only has a 30% tax.

On average about twenty new 911's are sold in Ireland compared to close to 300 new Taycan's a year.

Additionally a 911 attracts a yearly motor/public road tax of €2,350 a year compared to only €120 for EV's (Taycan).

so much for "low tax ireland". Had already heard of personal income tax being incredibly high, cost of living being horrendous in Dublin. I guess it only makes sense for corporate income tax benefits.

I agree with a number of the comments….. in that it all depends on the config.
I drive a less “stand out” White Taycan 4S (which I love and is my favorite car from a long line in the last 30 years)…. and it sure gets enough attention……. but my 964 wide body speedster is a rare beast and takes it … it is a garage queen so rarely gets out these days (1994 car with 19k miles) …..… but when it does for sure it turns heads and even other 911 owners want to stop and talk about it ……

The colour (In my case Neptune Blue) seems to attract a lot of attention, I think the Taycan looks fabulous, whereas the 911 (although I would love one) doesn't! its also better known to petrol heads rather than the wider public

no body pays attention to Porsche in general here in Los Angeles.
But my dad told me a lot of people wow at his Taycan in Tokyo since EV is not very common in Japan.

I own two Porsches, a 2023 Taycan Sport Turismo GTS in Carmine Red, and a 2015 911 Carrera 4 GTS in Guards Red.

Generally the 911 gets a lot more attention. It also makes a LOT more noise which makes it grab more attention. There is however an exception, I live in a city where winter tourism is really massive (Tromsø, Norway), with most of them from the Eastern parts of the world, places where fully electric cars are rare, and a fully electric Porsche is really rare. So a Japanese tourist is a lot more likely to give attention to the Taycan. Then again, a 911 on snow and ice is also quite rare so..

TLDR: The 911 grabs most attention.

When I had my first couple of Taycans they definitely got more attention. To my amazement I was asked more than a few times if it was the new 911. Now I feel the color seems to attract the most attention. I have 3 911s all is vivid colors and my current Taycan is Chalk. The 911s definitely get more attention.
