The compass has some utility at least and I quite enjoy the altimeter. I think I could live without it. It looks a bit like a wart stuck on top of the dash. I’m sure Posche can program a compass and altimeter into one of the dash screens. Certainly a case of less is more.
It's one reason I never went the Tesla route. I'm sure it was cheaper to just bolt on a huge rectangular screen but I haven't seen one that is not just ugly. Porsche have integrated their screens well into the dash which looks acceptable, imo there's still way too much going on that distracts...
This does sound like the brake hose recall problem which is staggering that Porsche haven't fixed this yet. I have a few near misses before the Porsche recall and afterwards the brakes felt completely different. The issue is that the front brake hoses became bent and I suppose stop brake...
I kerbed one of my wheels and decided to paint my wheels in satin dark platinum (a Porsche colour) and I think they look great with the Mamba green. I'm not so fond of the shiny diamond cut areas and was cheaper without having the wheels cut at the same time. You can't get this paint option on...
Just switched to CT4S gen2 with 20” wheels which look great and handling is good. This might be a sweet sport for range comfort and handing and although most will disagree I like the taller tyre profile of 20” wheels
After kerbing one of my spider 21” wheels I had them all painted in satin dark platinum (Porsche colour). Very nice look and got rid of the diamond cut, cheaper than the painted option on the configurator and you get to choose the colour you prefer rather dictated to by Porsche.
I’ve just switched my car back into 21” wheels from 19” and the ride is ok but much harsher. There must be a thread on tyres but as I don’t recall it do people have a favourite tyre ? I’ve been running Goodyear and they have very little lifespan. My Pirelli’s on the 19” tyre feel great and...
Well it’s a look for sure and not bad. And that’s surely part of the Porsche schtick is that you can ‘design’ your own car. Porsche then connive to charge for extras like doors and steering wheels but in a uniform world it allows some self-expression albeit at a price.
I switch from 21” to 19” for winter and get at least 10% improvement in range. Also ride comfort on bad UK roads is improved for minimal loss of handling. I suspect in terms of ride, handling and range the 20” wheels would be a sweet spot. Personally I’m not a fan of the rubber bands on 21”...
Ok thank you to the forum for helping me with the decision making process. I’m happy with my initial thoughts to go with a CT (despite the ST being sexy looking car) and with the devil on my shoulder a 4S ! Thanks to all.
Great points and I’m often lugging stuff around and driving down farm tracks or dodgy country lanes and find myself tip toeing into rutted passing places wondering if I’m going to whack the underside. 20mm plus gravel mode would be welcome and I agree that the ST is the better looking car but...
That confirms my suspicions re RAS and I’m keen to get that again. I’m surprised it’s not more often specified vs all the other gimmicky items. I am looking at next to new ex demo Taycans. Range isn’t too important but a friend of mine has a CT4S and without being too careful gets 320 miles in...
Considering changing to a Gen 2 Taycan and switching from a ST to a CT 4 or CT 4S. My thoughts are that as our rough country roads are akin to tracks in the UK these days means I would often be much more comfortable with a CT with extra ride height. Is there really much advantage to the CT4S...
My daughter calls my mamba green Taycan the ‘look at me car’ and my wife ‘the flying green bogey’ but it’s just a gorgeous car and I’ve never had a car that has sooo many compliments for its colour. I have had dozens of strangers stop me to express admiration and not one to say they dislike it...
I would go with the colour you really like. Porsche have a long history of interesting colours. It’s a Porsche an opportunity to express yourself. Personally I dont like black and grey cars, they’re dull and ubiquitous. They don’t show up the detailed sculptured lines of the Taycan. My pet...
Just a btw. I have a ST RWD with Rear axle steer and Ackerman effect in evidence in 21” wheels and virtually zero on 19” standard Porsche wheels fitted for winter and super luxury ride ?.
Does any one know the type of brake fluid used by Porsche in the Taycan?
If it’s a silicone brake fluid why does it need changing after 2 years?
Hello All,
I was supposed to have my car's first 2-year service in November, together with the brake recall work. However, they didn't have the...
