Thanks again. I think I will settle on a round pipe 4 mm thick, since I need a rather stiff torsion for the Thule Easyfold XT rack. I will possibly be driving with 2 bikes.
I now only need to find a plummer who can weld with aluminium.
I will let you know how I progress.
Very interesting read. I'm after a similar solution for my CT.
I am wondering if you have thought of any design improvement that I could benefit from when building my own (or ask my local plumber). And specifically I am interested in your supplier of the aluminium - perhaps I can have that...
Yes, my car has the preparations for the bike rack. I got my new Cross Turismo a month ago. But I haven't updated my profile yet.
I understand your points and I will investigate a little more her before ordering the rack from a remote factory.
Do you know what material was used - aluminium...
I pushed my contacts again and the options they come up with involves milling down the diameter from 48 (or 49 mm) to 47 mm - a rather expensive solution.
Do you think there is any chance your supplier will make the rack? I will pay up-front of course.
Thanks a lot for the design drawing. I have talked to a few persons to have it produced here in DK. However, the problem seems to be to find the material in Ø47 mm. Do you have any idea of where to find it?
Looks really interesting. I will get my new CT 4 in a few months and I would really like this rack too.
Do you think you friend at the factory will ship here?
Thanks for chipping in, all.
I got my car 2 days ago. It's from june 2021 and has been used as demo at a Porsche Zentrum in Germany.
I contacted the dealer and thought it would be piece of cake to have it replaced with a new 22 kW charger. However, the sales rep said he could not make that...
I just got my Taycan RWD and charged it for the first time yesterday with the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect (PMCC).
I have had an electrician to install /modify my installation so it can deliver 32 amp to the charger, but I cannot set the level higher than 16 amp on the charger.
My...
Yes, you were right @Alaistair, I could set the max current.
It turned out it was already set to 30 amp for the 3 phases - a little below my max current into the house. But that is probably wise as you mention.
Now I'm really looking forward to I get my car and the charger so I can see it all...
I believe I was loged in as tech used, but I didn't see that setting. Will check later today (currently at work).
Yes, 35 Amp is the standard in Denmark. You can buy extra but that is rather expensive. Don't know what I'll do when my wife wants an EV too ?.
So, I have now installed the first half of the charging system, the HEM, and I have a question that probably you, @Alaistair can answer.
How does the HEM know how much power it can deliver to the PMCC? I have 35 Amp in my house and the PMCC can take up to 32 Amp, which means that there are only...
