Thanks @W1NGE! That manual was news to me. I have not seen this before.

Interesting the way they have the UK language there

Thanks, usefull.
I'm also a bit of an it geek, but I have far less than 600 devices on my network ?.

I have a Google mesh network and I could probably easily extend that with another access point near my carport. Probably better than messing around with PLC connections, although some seem to think that it's better for the purpose of charging.

he he - that would be Ukranian I reckon!

I only extracted the English version from the main document. If you want other languages I can easily extract.

What - surely you have an IP address for every lamp in the house? Doesn't everyone ;) ?

So, I have now installed the first half of the charging system, the HEM, and I have a question that probably you, @Alaistair can answer.
How does the HEM know how much power it can deliver to the PMCC? I have 35 Amp in my house and the PMCC can take up to 32 Amp, which means that there are only 3 Amp left for the rest of the house. The idea is of course that the HEM should balance the load so I dont blow the 35 Amp fuse in the mast at the road.
I can't see anywhere in the software for the HEM that I can specify the max current.
Once I get the car and the charger in about 4 weeks I will connect the HEM and PMCC, and I understand that the HEM will take over control of PMCC. But how.

So you define the max current in the current sensor setup page (you do need to be logged in as the tech user.) See pic below.
Porsche Taycan Home Enegry Manager and PLC connection to PMCC - Help? HEMS

In my home I have a single phase 240v 100A supply. I have the current clamp 1 around my incoming supply measuring my live use. (you can see that is reading live around 8 amps.) I set it at 80 as a limit just for headroom as I will never get there....the HEMS came with the car (previous owner speccd it) and it was unopenned in the trunkl when I got the car!

To test it - I did set the limit down to around 40A. I then turned on all the elements of my cooker and the kettle....that drew around 25A....and when the PMCC was plugged into the car, it did limit the current to 15A. When I turned off the kettle and cooker - it went back up to 32A. So confirmed HEMS was doing its job before I reset back to 80A.

35A for a home supply seems VERY low....is that all you get in Denmark? If a house had 2 electric showers - that would be 64A alone?

I believe I was loged in as tech used, but I didn't see that setting. Will check later today (currently at work).
Yes, 35 Amp is the standard in Denmark. You can buy extra but that is rather expensive. Don't know what I'll do when my wife wants an EV too ?.

I't part of the "home installation wizard" - the last menu....where you set up your mains phases, current sensors (where you also define the max), power source (only if you need to add more stuff about solar) and then the current consumer (the actual PMCC)

Forgot to mention that we have 3 phases 240v with each 35 amp, so in fact a little more than in UK.

What software version do you have in the HEM? I do not have that last column that shows the actual current??

Apart from that all seems the same.

Software version 0260
Hardware Version C20

You may not get the live analysis duing the installation wizard? - I can't remember. But it is there on mine now that it is installed. As this current reading is what drives the consumption on the overview page.
You will of course have to set up 3 current sensors clamped on your 3 phase supply....did you connect these and define them in the current sensors page.

Although you are limited to 35A, you have 3 phases. So "technically" I think you could get 22kw charging if the PMCC is fully conjnected to all 3 phases.

In the UK - we are typically limited to 7kw home charging as the normal home supply is single phase.

Thanks for your answer. Will check my sw version etc later.

I also think you mixed me up with @SorenDK who asked the initial question.

No problems I appreciate your help.

I have 3 phase with 63 amp in, so mostly ok with my two 11 kW chargers. We have a lot of big heat pumps etc. so just need to balance things in extreme weather conditions.

Oops....sorry.
Twin chargers would be nice as I have an i3 for my wife. But we are both retired so our milage is low and we probably only charge abount once or twice/week.

I'm also luck we have a public charger about 200m from the house which is a government subsidised FREE charger.....so I'll ofthen just use that.

I see you have a DB9 - nice. I'm afraid my V8 Vantage S had to go when I moved to the Taycan.

Yes, you were right @Alaistair, I could set the max current.
It turned out it was already set to 30 amp for the 3 phases - a little below my max current into the house. But that is probably wise as you mention.
Now I'm really looking forward to I get my car and the charger so I can see it all work together.

I have the same HW version but only 0245 SW version.
My HEM is set for auto update so maybe different between markets? I have no idea on how to update the SW else.

I see you have a DB9
Yes I have a DB9 MY 2010. It is quite unique according to the independent specialist in so far that there is so little trouble with it. He used to be in charge of the engine testing and development so he knows his Astons.

One of the nicest V12 naturally aspirated engines, with a glorious sound palette. Will be very hard to part with it.???
