I've just driven from London to Algarve and this thread really saved me some misery - in particular having the Miio app and card saved me so many times.
Some things that surprised me:
* The Porsche charging card and app don't work here (as stated in comment above) resulting in much confusion...
I'm a fairly tall guy - around 6ft 3in - and on long journeys of over an hour or two I find I get quite uncomfortable in the seat.
This didn't happen in my old VW Golf and my partner who is 5ft 5in has no issues on the same journeys in the passanger seat.
Any other tall drivers find this? How...
Bumping this thread as I've had the car for a few months now and done this trip multiple times. Putting the conclusions incase helpful for future searchers.
In short there are lots of good options on the A1, and soon there will be even more. These are my go-to options so far.
1. Ionity...
The availability badges also disappeared for me on a long UK trip I did this weekend. Would have been very convenient to monitor the availability at the charger to while en-route to it and caused me a lot of distraction while driving trying to understand where they'd gone. How can I get them to...
I curbed my front left after just a few days of ownership. Now I'm used to the car I feel it's very unlikely that I'll curb the wheels again because I use the wheel cam when parking (I think from the surround camera option) which is awesome. I'm actually less likely to curb the Taycan wheels...
I prefer to use the built in sat nav as I prefer having the dashboard integration, and other info like est arrival state of charge, plus generally I think it looks better. If it's a trip I've not done before I often cross check the route with Google maps to see if it's taking me a dumb way, but...
Which window breaker tools do you guys have in the car in case of emergency? I read that the insulated glass is laminated and many of the glass breaker tools don't work well on that.
I was really worried about the width before taking delivery. I live in a part of London where it's often a squeeze to get past. Previously I had a Golf which could fit through little gaps no problem. I worried in the Taycan I'd frequently be stuck like a bus waiting for other traffic to...
I came from a 7 year old Golf and everything felt like a huge upgrade, even the widely criticised PCM.
The options I would add at a minimum are:
* rear axel steering - very helpful in cities, gives it the turning circle of a much smaller car
* 20 inch wheels - look significantly better
*...
Thanks! So to summarise, these 120kw units that @CrossTComingSoon and I were using must be 800v, so all Taycans should be able to benefit from the full speed (assuming other factors favourable).
I'll try some more Instavolts and see how that goes, this time with warm battery and hopefully no...
@CrossTComingSoon could you name one of the specific sites where you experienced high speeds? then we can deduce that all other units like that are in fact 800v and not 400v as I thought.
