  1. Race Tex Steering Wheel

I have racetex on my race cars, my Taycan and on my prior two Porsches. I much prefer it to hard leather. With racetex, use a lighter grip. If you have a very firm grip go with conventional leather.
  2. Auto High Beams

37 mph is 60kph. So…not really an odd number
  3. Race-tex durability and maintenance?

I have the race-Tex steering wheel in my Taycan, and have had it in other Porsches and in all my race cars. They are great. The trick is to use a lighter grip than you would with leather.

  5. FIXED - Charge port reported open when closed

In the US, I had the same issue with the left charging door report as being open. The only resolution was having my dealer replace the left charging door.
  6. Does driving a Taycan make one an official EV and/or Porsche brand ambassador?

Admittedly I have only charged at a Walmart once, but my public experience has overwhelmingly been honest, straightforward questions from people. They are curious about the car and what is good and bad about driving an EV. I can honestly say most things are great - charging at home is easy, plug...
  7. Does driving a Taycan make one an official EV and/or Porsche brand ambassador?

One day over 60 years ago in small town in Michigan’s upper peninsula a strange little car was parked outside a coffee shop. as a small group of 13 year old boys admired the car, the owner came up and spent a half hour showing us his Speedster And answering our questions. Over the past 50 years...
  8. Anyone here racing in any spec classes or do e-racing?

I recently retired from racing an SRF3 in the SCCA and have moved to a vintage S2000. SRF3 is a great class, fast, relatively low cost (12 cycles on the tires, 30 weekends before an engine rebuild) with lots of competition at all levels. BTW I am still an instructor in the SCCA and have used my...
  9. 271 miles! 100% charged. What’s your range shown?

2.5 to 2.7 miles per kWh. Mostly in Sport or Sport+ mode wih no thought given to range. With an 80% charge about 197 to 200 miles. Range estimates on the dash appear to be slightly conservative.
  10. Login is not possible at present. Please try again later.

Neither the Connect app nor the My Porsche app would connect to my Taycan, starting about 2 weeks ago. I contacted support. They noted that Connect is being retired and replaced by My Porsche, however the app was not working for many owners. They suggested using the browser to connect with My...

  16. Race tex steering wheel

I have had alcantara/racetex in several Porsches and in my all my race cars. I love the feel and feedback. The key is to use a light, relaxed grip at all times. If you use a death grip on the wheel go with leather.
