Another option to delete the US "monkey butt" rear plate bracket

I designed my own rear plate bracket to be rid of the US "monkey butt" one. I have a Turbo sedan but presumably this would fit on any of the US models. It bolts up to the existing holes so no modifications need to be done to the actual bumper. The design file is included if you want to get one...

    Connected Services inactive

Same issues for mine since last night. Did the factory reset and profile deletes a few times and in various combinations, but the iOS app is still broken, or at least more broken than usual. Of course all the settings are reset to default now so what is the point of having an online profile...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

I was able to play videos and other media from my Files application and Photo library. I also had some other apps that support mirroring specifically (Screens 4 which is a VNC client, for example) and they worked as expected. I suspect the apps you listed specifically don't allow screen...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

It's comical how limited these are compared to other RSE systems I've had experience with. 2012+ BMWs do a good job fully integrating the RSE into the rest of the in-car systems, though up until ~2020+ you could only interact with those systems using a remote as they were not touch-screen...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

"Preparation for Rear Seat Entertainment" (option code 9WU) was a $420 option for late MY2022. The rear screens cost just under $2000 after taxes for the set and I seem to recall that the pricing was about the same for the option code to have them shipped with the car. I was not charged for...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

It worked when I joined the screen (and you have to join them separately) to the wireless hotspot on my iPhone I was then able to see the screens under the "Screen Mirroring" section of Control Center. The phone still had a working cellular connection.

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

Finally have mine coded to work and spent some time with them today. Seems like AirPlay can only connect to one screen at a time in iOS. According to the Quick Start Guide that came with the rear displays, "CrossLink" which allows "videos to be displayed on both screens via a direct WiFi...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

I installed the screens this weekend. The posts slide in about half way and there's no apparent click or latch but I did confirm they are fully seated and making contact with the pogo pins in the seat. They didn't turn on at all so I called my dealership's parts department and was told they...

Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) Information

I haven't been able to find a lot of information about the PRSE system for the Taycan. What little I could find seems to refer to prior versions of this hardware in other Porsche models. I ordered my car with the preparation for the rear screens and ordered the screens themselves separately. I...

    January 2023 Deliveries

My understanding is that Porsche has a group of staff which rotate between ports to do this work, at least in the US.

    GENTIAN BLUE Taycan Club

Here's some pics of my Gentian Blue Taycan outside, along with a pic of it next to my Mediterranean Blue BMW 5-series in the garage. The colors are very close in certain lighting but noticeably different under others. Both have that purple hue visible sometimes.

I was impressed when I first saw them on that Tesla. I was specifically looking for them too. I have to assume someone in their design department hate those reflectors as much as I do.

The law also requires (or used to, may have changed) that there is a passive orange reflector visible from the side of the car which the clear ECE ones do not feature. It's a requirement for when the car is sold new but is otherwise unenforced, at least in all of the states I've lived in (CA...

    January 2023 Deliveries

Every new one I’ve seen before delivery had the orange reflectors. I ordered mine right after Christmas from SunCoast and they arrived a few days later.

    January 2023 Deliveries

Picked up my car around 3:00. Every option present and accounted for including a power steering column. Spent a few hours once I got back home messing with the software, and installed the clear “reflectors” to be rid of that orange nonsense. Put about 50 miles on it after. It’s everything I...

    January 2023 Deliveries

Bummer! I hope it shows up soon for you! It still hasn't hit me that this is really happening today. There's been so many delays so far, and I keep expecting to get a call saying there's a surprise stop sale or some other silly thing.

    January 2023 Deliveries

My car finally arrived at the dealership after 24 days stuck at the San Diego port. It's so nice to finally see it in person after waiting 525 days between when I put the order in and today. It should be ready for me to pick up on Monday!

My dealership let me know that my car was released from the port today! Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up soon and that there are no more surprise delays.

    January 2023 Deliveries

Mine is being held at the SD port for a missing amp according to my dealership. There was no mention of an update being required. It's a MY22 built around 7/27/22.
