Study: Less than 1% of EV owners would go back to full gas-powered vehicles... would you?

I would go PHEV, as I have been happy with the 2 Cayenne E Hybrids and 2 XMs I have had. Waiting for a bit to determine what EV would be a good replacement for the Taycan.

    [opinion] - hmmm…VW/Audi/Porsche may be in trouble…

Biden Administration already has a 100% tariff on all Chinese EVs, which is why there are zero companies looking to move into the US from China. It is hurting Polestar quite a bit, and forcing them to accelerate production to the US for the 3 and 4.

    Great dealers?

How is Porsche St. Paul? I just moved back to the area and need to figure out which dealer is better to work with.

    Great dealers?

I have had good luck with Porsche Austin, the north location. It may depend on the SA, but the sales manager is also really good. Fair, charge MSRP, and good communication.

Help me decide. Family Matters: M5 Touring vs CT Turbo vs RS6 Avant

This is my second Cayenne PHEV and I really like it. I had a '20 E Hybrid (base) and opted for the new S E Hybrid for the '24. The '24 is currently showing 50 miles (US) of electric only range after a charge, still in the engine break in period so I haven't used electric only very often. Rear...

Help me decide. Family Matters: M5 Touring vs CT Turbo vs RS6 Avant

You can definitely feel the weight, but it is a very large SUV and it still handled really naturally and better than even I expected. The interior is beautiful (I had Silverstone/Vintage Coffee interior) and there is 7 Series leg room in the rear. I did trade it in on my ‘24 Cayenne S E...

Help me decide. Family Matters: M5 Touring vs CT Turbo vs RS6 Avant

The new M5 Touring is a PHEV, so you would possibly have some tax incentives there, depending on how Taiwan handles that. I am on the waiting list for the M5, keep in mind the Touring will not start production until very late this year, or early next year. I had a '24 BMW XM, the powertrain in...

    Option regrets ?

I have the acoustic and thermal glass on my CT 4S and had it on my '20 Cayenne, zero issues in either with my TX Tag being read. There are certain areas to place the transponder, outlined in the manual and if you place it in those areas, zero issues. It also makes a huge difference in...

EVs not such a good deal in Texas…

Depends on where you are, around Austin they are very popular. Our street has 18 homes, 5 of them had solar panel systems, everyone of those (including mine) has battery backup systems because ERCOT is horrible. Also, you can claim a 30% credit for the panels, installation, and battery backup...

On off button on Taycan dangerous?

There will always be a message in the dash to Press and Hold the off button if you do not hold it long enough to actually turn the vehicle off. As others state, I always put mine in Park, and then shut off the vehicle. Never had any issue.

    2024 Model 3 Performance

I have no thoughts on the Tesla, never drove one, I did however drive a BMW i4 M50 as a loaner and was pretty impressed with it. More expensive than a Model 3, but still much cheaper than the Taycan, may be worth a look.

    HELP NEEDED- hot weather charging

That has zero to do with the ambient temperature. Regularly (nightly) plugged mine in in Central Texas, when outside temps were well over 100F and never had an issue. Call your Porsche center and have them get it asap.

Bye guys. Thanks for the good times.

M5 will have the same PHEV set up as the XM. I have an XM and it is a pretty good hybrid system, get around 40 miles pure electric in the 6,000lb monster. XM has huge discounts right now (in the US), the exterior is too polarizing, that said, the interior is amazing and the reason I traded my...

    Car shipping/delivery experience

Just shipped my CT 4S from Austin, TX to St. Paul, MN. I used Montway, they are a broker. Intercity doesn't run up and down I35 and Reliable wanted $7000 for a guaranteed pick up date. Spent $1900 with guaranteed pick up, car picked up 6/5, driver assigned 6/7, Taycan in driveway 6/10...

Some images of MY 2025 Cross Turismo 4 in Oak Green

Can I ask what the problem with the wipers is? I am moving from Texas back to Minnesota, and nordic winters are the norm there (which is probably why there are so many of Scandinavian descent there).

    Eclipse in Austin while overcast.

It is 100% likely you have a nicer set up than I do.

    Eclipse in Austin while overcast.

True, but getting it set up perfectly (focus, angle, etc) would have taken most of the nearly 4 minutes of totality we had. Not sure even a good DSLR could have captured the full beauty of it, not my average consumer set up anyway.

Taycan as a long term car?

A year and a half in to owning my CT 4S and I still love it. It is quick, and comfortable while also being extremely practical for rear seat passengers and has a very nice sized cargo area. I usually get the itch to get a new vehicle about every 4 years, but plan on keeping mine at least 5-6...

    Taycan X CyberTruck

I see far too many CyberTrucks already in my Austin, TX suburb. Including two different ones dropping off kids at the schools my kids go to. They are ugly, huge, and I will admit to pointing and laughing whenever I see one. I find this to be even funnier when driving my XM, as I am in a very...

    Heater broken. My turn.

Received the email today also, guess they are doing the heater replacement in batches. Glad it will be done now, moving out of TX early June and back to St. Paul, wouldn't be fun to find the heater not working at -20F below zero this coming winter.
