  1. Mamba Green and Cherry Red colors are gone

I've seen only one Cherry Red Taycan in person and it was more stunning in person. But yeah... lighting plays a huge part.
  2. Mamba Green and Cherry Red colors are gone

Cherry Red Metallic is my favorite color on the Taycan:
  3. Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

Hmm. I for sure thought it should reach given the orientation is the same. Superchargers don't tend to have parking stops, so I thought putting the nose super close to the stall would suffice. Now I have to go try at one of our local Supercharger locations and test the reach as well. I'll...
  4. Tesla to open ~20% of U.S. Superchargers to all EV by end of 2024

Actually, not for your Taycan or my e-tron GT. On our cars, the DCFC port is on the front passenger-side (USA, that is). On Teslas, the DCFC port is on the rear driver-side. So, same orientation and therefore the cables should reach just fine AND we won't block a stall to charge on a Tesla...
  5. Driving review - Taycan GTS versus RS e-tron GT

This is true. I own an e-tron GT and it does, in fact, want to understeer. When owning a sports car that has the characteristic, you learn how to compensate. Some manufacturers purposely tune the geometry for understeer because it tends to be safer vs oversteer. My Giulia QV and my 4C both had...
  6. Driving review - Taycan GTS versus RS e-tron GT

Well said. Hopefully this doesn't get me in trouble out here (no offense to anyone just in case), but the way I like to explain it is like this: EVs are like sex without sound. Fun. Feels great. But, not quite the same. I'm a fan of both EVs and ICEVs. I don't have a Taycan, I have an e-tron...
  7. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

His last few vids have definitely gotten the ears of CCS operators AND OEMs. Some are following his new @rateyourcharge Twitter account as well.
  8. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

Before we complain and try to find ways to turn up the pressure on EA and other CCS operators. @thecoloradokid, for example, suggests that sure, it could be better, but to stop complaining unfoundedly and deal with it until it gets better. Again, it's been 4+ years. So, how long do we deal...
  9. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

Kyle's a sharp guy, and I'm not just saying that because I know him personally. Even I mentioned in this thread (on-topic) that the latest EA hardware refresh campaign is a step backwards in reliability. They're very unstable, as in up today, down tomorrow. Up again the same day, down again...
  10. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

I don't have a Taycan, I have an Audi e-tron GT so I have no first-hand experience with the problem... only what I'm reading on the forums. That said, what's strange is that some are having issues, and some are not. I know someone who confirmed charging via app without an issue on December 27.
  11. PEC LA to Seattle, WA over 4 days/3 nights - Taycan GTS delivery trip

I'm not 100% certain at what point preconditioning begins. For some reason I have it in my head that it starts ~30min before the estimated arrival time to the charging station. As far as a manual option to start preconditioning, that's pretty cool if Taycan has this. My e-tron GT does not have...
  12. PEC LA to Seattle, WA over 4 days/3 nights - Taycan GTS delivery trip

First, @foofighter -- congrats on the Taycan purchase. Congrats again on the long-distance delivery. We just did a 5,500mi round trip from SC to MD to AZ to SC. *NOTE* I don't have a Taycan, I have an e-tron GT. But, still. Now, in regards to charging speeds, did you use Carplay/Android Auto...
  13. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

I think you may have COMPLETELY nailed it! Can I share this??
  14. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

I came over here (to this forum) because I find more answers and more "in common" experiences than I do on the e-tron forum... as it pertains to my GT, that is. For example, this forum helped put me at ease when I had a scare at the EA station in Little Rock, AR on our return trip from Arizona...
  15. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

First, I only mentioned the number of stations that I've visited this year alone from June to current. I've visited way more than 31 since 2019. Many of which I frequent. Second, you're not the only one that has had multiple CCS format EVs, for I, too, have had quite a few... Currently our 2019...
  16. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

Well, the car already tries to protect itself by stopping the session when it's pushed more than it's asking for. When it does this, I have to clear the error it stores, else I can't DCFC anymore until it's cleared. This only happens (to me) on the newest hardware that's being deployed right...
  17. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

I may be a little more exposed than you. This year alone I've had to use 31 EA stations. From South Carolina to Maryland. Maryland to Arizona. To the Grand Canyon from Scottsdale. South Carolina to Alabama (every other week). South Carolina to Orlando, & Cape Canaveral, FL (regularly)...
  18. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

@chenner Have you seen this latest statement from Elon? This leads me to believe that unless non-Tesla EV manufacturers adopt the NACS (as Tesla is calling it) and builds cars using the Tesla connector, non-Teslas with CCS connectors may never be able to use Tesla superchargers.
  19. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

One would hope so. At this point I've given up on EA getting better. We're on the 2nd hardware upgrade (Gen3 stations by Signet or BTC) and they seem to be a step backwards from the 1st hardware upgrade started back in September of 2020 (Gen2 Signet units... the most reliable units to date)...
  20. EA (Electrify America) Sucks - that is all

Congrats. And good luck. Yeah, if this were mostly an in-town, or in-state car for that matter, I wouldn't have this complaint. My e-tron GT is a brilliant machine. I LOVE it. It charges really fast if you use the in-car route planner so that preconditioning happens. I can literally travel in...
