WhiteX, your math and approach are exactly correct. That "catastrophic level" will be a number unique to each reader. Speaking as a friend to you all, find "your number" and live happily ever after
As some have cleverly implied, Porsche ownership is not so much about "ROI" or "affordability." Rather, I view extended warranty "products" as simply what they are -- a financial instrument, priced according to risk evaluation. Insurance company "X" calculates they can profit from any Taycan...
Granted, I'm well beyond my "gainfully-employed" years, but why stress (by gambling on your "range")? As "j.w.s." said above, take an extra coffee/pee/snack/meal /just-look-around-at-the-beauty break, while "topping off." I now live full-time in the Tahoe area, and I appreciate the views and...
Forum general consensus seems to be "get extended warranties, as long as you own your Taycan." BUT...I only drive my 2021 4S three thousand miles per year (I have other cars). Does the forum think an extended warranty makes sense in my "low-mileage" case? My original four-year warranty...
"Nevada Bob" here (again). Don't think I ever received a reply from you, per my June 26 response to you (scroll back to see it). Just reply if you're still interested. As we both own premium autos, I think we mitigate the sale risk. Thx...Bob
Hi Kelli -- My four-year warranty expires in April, on my MY2021 Taycan 4S (purchased new, in Reno NV). Sadly, I have just 9K miles on it. I have pre-paid services on it, extending out for many, many miles yet to be driven. Might we explore an extension from that original warranty, soon to...
I grew up in Colorado. All it takes is one early fall, or late spring surprise snowstorm to regret owning RWD. Be patient, and find your AWD. THEN RELAX AND ENJOY THE RIDE. Take it from a 4S owner.
Some have said these forums are predominately populated with "negative" users. Me? I've found this forum quite useful, with appreciation. I'd give some merit to the "overly negative" observation, too. So just to balance things out a bit for you....
Yes, my MY2021 Taycan 4S (purchased new in...
What the heck...so I ordered one, too, assuming local dealer will be of little help. Has been a long journey for this early adopter (MY '21, bought new). "Enjoy the car; short the stock"
Not true. Yes, there were/are income limits to the $7500 deduction. But "never qualified?" Simply FALSE! I qualified in 2022 on my "new" purchase, and received (and long ago spent :-) the $7500. I humbly suggest a better tax planner
Will make you a good offer. But how might I pay you, yet being assured the mats arrive to my Reno, NV location? Zelle is one option. But how do I protect myself? Not doubting you. Just being prudent. Thx.
Yes, have read the threads, and the read the manual. Just picked up my 2021 4S from the dealership (Reno), after a multiple-recall service. Asked the service manager to clarify best way to maintain both batteries during one to three month winter storage, inside my home garage. Their answer...
You might search what's happening with WIRELESS charging. Sort of a "mat" on the garage floor, that operates something like wireless charging for your cell phone (now common). I have no technical expertise to offer, so will defer to others more knowledgeable. Good luck with your search...
My "weekender" is a 997.2 911 S Cab. Yes, it's water-cooled, but otherwise that very last of the "analog" 911's. Its successor, the 991, was a big step CLOSER to what you and I have in the Taycan. As others have opined, 997 and earlier will give you a nice contrast to your "digital" Taycan...
Having bought a new 2021 4S, I share your pain. But "past" is past! Question now is, would I buy my [now used] Taycan today (with just 9K miles on it), at today's value of say 50% of what I paid for it new? For me, the answer is "yes." And as "W1INGE" wisely opined, looking ahead to 2030...
