    CarPlay-Porsche Connect communication

OK. The CarPlay-Porsche Connect interaction was the idea of the Porsche Tech. I have no idea how the information is transferred. I would love to hear from someone in the Porsche IT department

    CarPlay-Porsche Connect communication

CarPlay is supposed to be able to pull the state of charge from Porsche connect in order to assist in navigation and charging. A few months ago, this stopped working, and Apple Maps now daily reports that the state of charge (through Apple Maps) may no longer be accurate. To fix this, I was...

Hancook iON evo AS all season tires good but hard to find

The Tire Rack review was carried out on a Tesla. It compared 8 or 9 different tires both subjectively and using measurements like stopping distance. I was going to replace my OEM P-Zeros elect with the same tire since they had given me great service for 26k miles. But, the Continental Procontact...

Cayman EV (and Boxster EV) may axed by new CEO Michael Leiters

Porsche had a technology/complexity moat against competition for Performance - in that competing with Porsche required competitors to take on the same mechanical complexity Porsche had mastered - and while they might choose to purse that - it was hard to see how they could be profitable doing...

New Hankook Ion Evo tires for the GTS

I hope your tires work out well. I am about ready to replace the Pirelli P zero OE tires on my '23 GTS. The car is at 25,000 miles (40K kilometers), and the tires have worn evenly and given good service. I think I will just buy the replacements. They are about the same price as Michelin Pilot...

Taycan repair - small crack in my rear bumper

I had a scrape on my rear bumper—someone did it to my parked car. I took it to Amatos here in San Diego, an excellent repair shop. They repaired or replaced the bumper, but then they had to send it to a Porsche dealer to reprogram the electronics. The cost is high. Just the reprogramming was...

Plug & Charge now available for Tesla Superchargers via Porsche Charging Service

I have a '23 Taycan GTS. When on the Tesla app, I only see Destination Chargers. No high-speed DC Tesla Chargers. What am I doing wrong?

    Holiday Battery with perfect results

I have previously left my Taycan plugged in with a 65% charge on the Timer; however, with a recent update that doesn’t work any longer. The first night it charges to 65%, the second night it reverts to direct charge to 100% grrrrr. I haven’t yet fig out how to overcome this.

Taycan Turbo GT Weissach vs Lucid Sapphire - Savagegeese review

What blows my mind is the Xiaomi beat all other EVs, including the Rimac, in their first try at Nurburgring, in their first ever car. How is that possible?

California Clean Air badges invalid, Oct 1st

I started this thread to alert people. The EV access to car pool lanes had to end eventually, as EVs ultimately become the dominant vehicle on the road. Another topic is paying for road construction and maintenance. Previously, having a gas tax fairly apportioned costs to those who use the...

MY 2025 CT 4S Lightly optioned - what have to have options am I missing

Camera prep is cheap, in case you want it later. Privacy glass. The Bose stereo in my ‘23 GTS is better than the Burmester in my ‘16 Carrera—by a lot. The base rear wheel drive with standard tires will have significantly more range And might eliminate an intermediate charging on your long...

So many options - what are your must haves and why?

Agreed, rear wheel steering is a great upgrade for maneuverability. I would add privacy glass, and keep the wheels/tires small for range. I ordered a GTS with 21’s, and they look great but cost miles, me thinks. The BOSE sounds great to me, I wouldn’t spring for the Burmester. Consider wiring...

Best 21 inch Tire for Southern California?

Somehow I never seem to align with experience of others on this forum. I get a maximum 220 mi range on 100% charge, but I’ve got 21,000 mi on my original Pirelli P0 NFO elect tires that came with my ‘23 GTS. They have some life in them, and they’ve worn very evenly—so far the dealer hasn’t said...

Porsche is now listed on Tesla’s site for supercharger access

I wish I knew what I’m doing wrong. I navigate to the EA spot using Porsche Nav in my ‘23 GTS, and never see above 200 kW. This was true all the way from San Diego to Montana and back.
