CarPlay is supposed to be able to pull the state of charge from Porsche connect in order to assist in navigation and charging. A few months ago, this stopped working, and Apple Maps now daily reports that the state of charge (through Apple Maps) may no longer be accurate. To fix this, I was advised to disconnect the iPhone from the car and the car from iPhone--and reconnect. When this didn't work after several tries, I was advised to restart the PCM by holding 2 fingers on the screen upper right. Finally, I was advised to log out of the Taycan, lock it and hide from the car for 20 minutes or so, and reestablish an account. None of these exercises worked, so I stopped into a Porsche dealer. The tech expert eventually acknowledged that this should work, but through trial and error he found that Porsche Connect was not communicating with the iPhone CarPlay. He called Porsche, and the agent didn't seem to know anything about it, but vaguely acknowledged that there were Porsche Connect issues that were being studied, if not fixed.

Are other people having this issue? Does anyone get distance and charge information in CarPlay/Apple Maps?

Wrong info, Porsche Connect has nothing to do with sharing the SoC with Apple Maps through Carplay. It is calculated based on info shared over the Carplay protocol.

I don't know how to fix the issue, but wanted to point out there is no relation between the two

OK. The CarPlay-Porsche Connect interaction was the idea of the Porsche Tech. I have no idea how the information is transferred.
I would love to hear from someone in the Porsche IT department

Could you try to launch the MyPorsche app on CarPlay? I’m curious if other information is shared and up to date (airco settings, current location, ambiance light color, etc.). If so, it is a bug/issue in Apple Maps and not CarPlay or your Taycan. IOS26.5 will be released next week (mid-May), so it probably will be fixed by updating to that version.

What is the version of the My Porsche app that you’re using? I ask because I had the same issue present around December 2025. This correlates with an app update from then. Since then in March several updates were released and since updating to version 18.26 my problems have been resolved.
There is another new release version 19 from April 19th. I avoided updating it in case the problems reappeared. Best to wait for another release and see how it goes.

My Apple Maps sync with charge % worked for a while last year, then stopped syncing after my PCM data connection had problems. Fixing the PCM data issue via fuse reset restored car LTE, but did not fix the battery charge updates. I tried everything including unpairing the vehicle from Apple Maps, re-installing the My Porsche app, even resetting my car settings with no success; I ended up just unpairing the car from Apple Maps. Then maybe a month ago I tried pairing again, and it’s been magically working ever since - fingers crossed.

Apple Maps through Carplay occasionally loses SOC but lately it has been working fine and even when, early on in longer trips it might complain of not receiving battery information, usually this remedies itself after a couple of minutes.

I was having problems with this too. You actuality have to go into Apple Maps on your iPhone, go to your profile (where your picture is) scroll down to vehicles, click on the Taycan and then open the my Porsche app through that link. That fixes is for me now but I’ve also had to delete the vehicle and re-add it. Also, go into the My Porsche app, scroll down to Apple Maps EV routing and make sure you have “share vehicle data” checked. One or a combo of those should work.

Since the new version of the porsche app, I haven’t had the issue anymore. I did redo the integration with maps. But the new Porsche app fixed the issue.

I have been fighting this same issue for the last few months after having used CarPlay successfully prior with accurate range estimates. After reading many different explanations for the problem and trying many different solutions I’ve been very successful with the following method. When first starting the car and accessing Apple Maps in CarPlay if I ask for a route solution the results will come back with the wrong range estimates. But if I then cancel that request and open the Porsche app in CarPlay and wait for it to connect fully I can then go back the the Apple map app and request a route and get accurate range estimates. So far doing this has always resulted in Apple Maps giving me correct range information. I can’t explain this but it has worked every time.

I have also had the issue of the EV charge state failing to update after reconnect. It was stable for a long time last year but since it broke, every time I’d delete the car from Maps EV routing and re-add it would only work for a few hours or days!

just opened up the My Porsche app without deleting the vehicle config in Apple Maps and it acted as if they’d not been connected (“Get Started” button showed). But as soon as I clicked it, it was just instantly there. For good measure I toggled off/on the “share vehicle data” toggle.

And went back to Apple Maps > Profile > Vehicles > Taycan and it showed battery level as of “1s ago” (replacing 84 days!) so at least it’s nice to know there is a simple way to reconnect it.
Maybe the latest app updates mean it will not keep flaking out. Thanks!

I had the same problem and posted about it here. The fix, for me, was to open the My Porsche app on my phone, scroll down and touch Apple Maps EV Routing, toggle the "Share my vehicle data" slider off and back on again. That seemed to fix the issue for a little while.
