Hi all, my Andersen A2 has recently packed in - just out of warranty, annoyingly.
I’m wondering whether I should go for another Andersen (now with a 7 year warranty instead of 3), or go for something else that’s ideally a little bit cheaper?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated...
Thank you. I’ve been impressed with non-IONITY chargers and have arguably had more positive experiences with them - probably because the majority of IONITY stations in the UK are busy all the time, it seems…
In the UK, a Macan 4S is £8778 ($11,854) more than a US car! And US cars come with far more options as standard (air suspension, adaptive cruise, comfort access, pano roof, heated wheel, etc etc) too! I suspect Porsche will find customers speccing up a Macan, in the UK at least, and will instead...
Agreed. IMO Porsche doesn’t necessarily need to rival BMW directly - they just need to offer a more modern and genuinely luxurious product, like they do with their ICE cars. The problem is that with how fast EV tech evolves, something like the iX3 ends up feeling like the more compelling option...
Am I the only person that thinks the pricing isn’t too bad for this? Compare it to a H2 Macan GTS in the UK and you’ll find it to be £6k cheaper. And it’s £3k less expensive than an E3 II Cayenne E-Hybrid.
Hello all, during a recent trip back from the French Alps I experienced the best charging session I think I've ever had in my Taycan. This was at one of Aire de Rumaucourt's Shell Recharge 300kW units. Here are the stats:
The car is a March 2023 registered Taycan 4S Cross Turismo J1.1 with...
Also interested in hearing people’s thoughts to this post on Instagram by Matt Farah (TheSmokingTire), claiming the GTS with AR is on par with the Turbo GT’s agility & makes his CT4 J1.1 feel like driving a waterbed. 🤔
A Final Look at the Charging Log:
We thought it’d be worth noting that with an equivalent petrol-powered Porsche, a Panamera GTS. We predict it would have cost £590 in premium unleaded, getting 20.7 mpg, with only five stops needed for the same distance. In contrast, our Taycan cost £350 in...
We awoke bright and early on 100% SOC, ready for our final leg back home through England, secretly knowing it’d be nowhere near as effortless as our fabulous experience on the autoroutes the night before.
We boarded the Eurotunnel on an earlier train despite a busy and slow process, with...
PT2: The Return Journey
After four great days of skiing it was time to head home. After preheating the car, we left the resort with 60% SOC and an indicated 149km. A quick check of the trip metre left us pretty disappointed: we had only managed 2.0 mi/kWh over 878 miles, with an average speed...
If you plan on getting a subscription just for your trip I’d go with the IONITY.
Porsche = 0.39 EUR/kWh in France
IONITY = 0.33 EUR/kWh
Yes the Porsche service is cheaper for DC charging in the UK, (39p/kWh vs 43p) but you’ll only stop once or twice on the UK part of the journey. Not to...
Hi Darren, this was done using the free ‘Porsche Charging Service Taycan’ I got with the car. There’s no need to go for the IONITY Power subscription presuming you already have the Porsche one?
Porsche charges 30p/kWh at IONITY (0.33 EUR in France) vs the Power’s 43p/kWh (0.33 EUR in FR). Plus...
Ah yes, the sacred law of DC charger etiquette 🙃. No other cars waiting, plus it’s public infrastructure and I’m free to charge to 100%. Thank you for the lecture on proper charger behaviour. I’ll make sure to interrupt my meal, hover over my car, and keep my battery at 80% just to avoid...
