2020 vs 2021

Hi guys

tried looking on the forum but couldn't find it specifically. How does one know whether they have the actual 2021 car which has the LIFT feature?
i'm looking at a UK car registered in 2020, but as its covid and i can't try sit in it or see inside it, i need to know is there a way of knowing if it is the 2021. Or when people are referring to 2021, do they literrally mean it has to have been built commencing Jan 1st.

How do you know if it supports FoD ? - which can some one confirm is ONLY available on 2021 models?

ps I'm referring to the UK market in case its different in the US.

Get the VIN and then use a decode tool or lookup which position is the model year.

Wireless CarPlay and charging was a MY 2021-only thing if I recall so if you have that it’s likely a 21 model.
I think the lift function is in all model years but has the automatic gps version added in MY2021.
These things may get added back to MY2020 models but I don’t think they have been yet.

edit: none of that probably helps if you don’t have physical access to the car,sorry.

The most obvious 2021 feature is if the car has been optioned with a Heads Up Display. MY2021 cars started production in mid October 2020. I received mine at the end of October and it was one of the first 2021 models to arrive in the UK. Get your dealer to send you the full spec of the car. It should tell you on that.
