My local (and very trusted/professional), wheel refurbishment/wheel vendor/tyre place have Wheeluv rim protectors and are recommending their use (in a very non-pushy way). With our terrible roads in the UK, I’m very tempted. Price is decent, that’s not the issue

Opinions?

Isn't it more to do with kerbs jumping out at you when you're parking rather than the state of the roads?

Yeah that’s kinda my feeling about them. It’s just unusual for the company to recommend protectors as previously they’ve actively told me to avoid them. Cynically it looks a little like a new revenue stream.

However, I think it’s a case of just accepting that you might have to drop a wheel or two in to get the rims done. Some roads round by me are just horrendous and at times you simply cannot avoid them

If they come unstuck they can flail your bodywork to death!

Alloygators help with curbs when rubbed gently, they are just torn off when skidding of a curb or smashing into something hard.
