Hi folks

Every time I unlock the car to get something from it - or to put luggage in - or to check/set the PCM or whatever, I get a notification a few minutes later - telling me my air conditioning complete..... It always assumes when I unlock it, I am going to drive it - and it switches PCM, music, lights, heated seats (in cold weather) air conditioning etc on. The airco/lights even go on for a little while after I lock it. This depletes the battery unnecessarily even though I have no intention of driving the car. So annoying.

Is there anyway to get the PCM not to activate any system, until I press the start button? I have tried to find something in the PCM for this without success.

Any hints welcome thanks - and sorry if these potatoes have been boiled before.....

You have probably set your AC on preconditioning when unlocking the car. If you unselect this option it should solve this problem

Thanks MgcR - But sorry can't find that setting anywhere in the PCM or the manual. - the term 'preconditioning' doesn't work in the manual search function - and I think I have exhausted trolling the most likely menus in the PCM - probably staring me in the face - but eluding me so far

it is the last thing in the climate section of the manual.
home>Climate>precool/h

Yep - within AC select Precool/h. and untick Precool/heat with remote unlocking.

Thanks guys - found it - I was looking in 'Car' and 'Settings' and 'Manual' - Did not know a dedicated airco icon existed - never needed it before ..... ........ So, that just leaves lights, seat heating (maybe that will stop too now if classed as Airco) & music and PCM etc.... cheers

It will only address heating elements - seats, steering wheel, AC and rear demist.

Audio you need to disable on your phone if using Carplay or Android Auto.

Just fixed this on my 2023 this morning. Very difficult to find in PCM. The only way I found it was to:
1. Go to settings
2. IMPORTANT, in search box at to type in locking.
3. Under results click on door locking
4. You will see an option to turn on when locking/unlocking
5. Select OFF

That is amazing that there are options hidden in the search function but not in any of the menus!

One small correction, step 1 is from the main menu where there is a search bar at the top. ‘Settings’ is an icon in the main menu but not necessary to select that.

I thought there might be some hidden options for turning off the bolster adjustment during ingress/egress or for controlling the windows with the key fob but no luck…

It's not hidden.
