Any subscription fees?

Hey all,

I'm looking at purchasing my first EV, a lightly used 2021 Taycan 4s. I was doing some research but wanted to double check: Does Porsche force any subscriptions on you? The new Corvettes and Cadillacs require a monthly subscription just to use navigation or to even have the vehicle read out your text messages, among other things.

I just want to be as informed as I can be going into it. Thanks in advance!

Okay, so if I'm reading this correctly, you can still use the navigation, android auto, etc. without paying a subscription fee? Will the car read out text messages and take voice responses?

I'm new to the platform and just want to make sure. Thanks!

Use the search function in top right of the forum page….. search “Porsche Connect” or “ Subscription” ….. click title only radio button …… you will see many threads on the subject ….. here is one….

Hi, @Sandcracker21. To your specific questions, the navigation and text alerts/reading still work. You'll lose the ability to send information to the app from the car and vice-versa. Navigation won't display live information or select routing based on traffic conditions.

If you plan on a lot of DC charging, it might be worth investing in the Connect subscription. I haven't tried since mine expired, but others say battery preconditioning as you navigate to a charger won't work without a subscription.

I do miss the ability to quickly alter my charge profiles and send them to the car, plus location info and current charge give a certain peace of mind. As a non-daily driver, living without Connect has not been a problem for me.
