I was having intermittent issues connecting to CarPlay on my MY22 4S. Then I was test driving a Macan EV and could not connect to CarPlay at all. Finally I have a loaner MY25 base Taycan. CarPlay was working great. Then I plugged my Apple Watch in for charging and immediately I started experiencing the same issues and same error messages as in the MY22.

Has anyone else experienced an issue like this? I haven’t had time to swap out cables but I’m almost certain my CarPlay issues are caused by this.

No, haven't tried, but seems conceivable.
Use the USB-C port in the console instead, as it's only power, no data.
Yes that’s a good idea. Interestingly, when I plugged in the charging cable (Apple original for what it’s worth), it came up as a device in the PCM (without even plugging the watch in for charging). Something like Apple Watch magnetic.
