Befuddled by Carplay & Apple Music

Alright you guys answer me this: I can see how to shuffle songs when I'm in Carplay mode, it's right there at the top of the PCM display. But for the life of me, I can't see how to shuffle songs when I'm in Apple Music. You can select songs and the PCM lists those songs alphabetically, but there is no shuffle mode that I can discern like in Carplay. So the question is, how do you shuffle songs when you're using Apple Music instead of Carplay?

So, in Apple Music, I did discover a shuffle button once you select a song and the album art, etc fills the PCM. It appears at the bottom of the screen but when pushed and highlighted it doesn't shuffle; the next alphabetically listed song plays. I'm still stumped...
