Hello Canadian friends -

I am going to Montreal for F1 this weekend. I am in New England, it is a 5-6 hour drive and would like to bring the Taycan. Need some advise.

Looking at hotels I can stay around the airport where I am seeing less expensive hotels. Trying to not spend a $1000/night if possible. I was doing research on hotels and without me asking I kept seeing "beware of car theft", how real is that concern? I travel internationally a fair amount and with the rare exception -common sense is enough to stay out of trouble.

Also, seeing Courtyard Marriott Brossard , good choice?

Any other suggestions on where to stay. I don't mind driving some to/from hotel to the track.

Thanks, appreciate any insight.

I have only been (many times though) working, from 1979 to 2009. Getting to the track by car, even with team passes was a PITA, one of our subcontractors used to like to come to that race and he used to come to the track on the Metro which he said worked well.
May be worth looking for a hotel convenient for a Metro station?

The track is on an island. You take a ferry over. Be prepared to walk a bit to get to your seats depending on where you are on the track.

There is also a Metro station on the island (or was when I was at the GP from 1979 to 2009). The island was originally for Expo '67 and was also used in the '76 Olympics, the rowing basin is just behind the pits and we had raft races over it back in the day.
I once went in on the Metro from the Bonaventure hotel and it was easy but that would have been in the preparation week, not the race weekend.

I guess you will be there by now anyway, so have fun!

Thank you both. Frank I took your advise and found a hotel near a metro stop.

I went in 2019 and we took a ferry over. Not going this year, but had a great time. They block off two streets in downtown and there are all sorts of stuff going on and the high end hotels all have the nice cars out front. Mercedes had an F1 car on the street in front of the hotel (roped off). Was a fun time.
