Anyone noticed what looks like carbon fibre on the brake pedal stem? Looks like a unfinished carbon fibre part?

Anyone noticed what looks like carbon fibre on the brake pedal stem? Looks like a unfinished carbon fibre part?

Yes. I had noticed that when we tried to jump a dead 12v battery to open the hood. There was a connection in the fuse box for the positive connection but no exposed metal for the negative including the brake pedal. Finally used an exposed bolt that fastens the door to the frame.
