CarPlay icon has disappeared

Anyone know why the green CarPlay icon is no longer appearing on my lower control panel? CarPlay is working, but I have to go into the main menu and choose CarPlay to see it. CarPlay is enabled in the phone.

I've tried swapping the USB cable for a new one (suggested in a post I found elsewhere); rebooting car and phone; changing profiles and back; leaving car to reset.

When the car is parked I believe there is a little set of dots right above the “touchpad” on the lower screen. If you touch this for a few seconds I believe it should bring back the icons. I haven’t done it but saw it in a video I can look for

Correct...

Also, you can also get to CarPlay on the Settings screen.
