Couldn't charge

So my 4S went in for first service (2 year £470 - brake fluid, pollen filter, roof drains etc) last week also the big software update coloured icons etc and the drivers seat wiring harness, picked up all good. Sunday out and about, then swapped all tyres/wheels over to my winter set, went to put car back in garage and screen said OTA software update had taken place - read it out loads of things to do with optimising the charging system etc, connected up to the charger and lower screen showed blank battery and stated not connected to charger and no direct charge/ pre heat buttons, centre top screen under charge section stated charging function not available, phone app showed charging error, couldn't select direct charge - so unable to charge. Unplugged car shut down and left overnight, same in morning, called Porsche assist (Monday)and AA said ordinary yellow van man would not be able to assist but booked technical support for this morning (Tuesday) , technician duly arrived this morning, disconnected 12v battery for 15 minutes reconnected and everything came back - relief.
Strange thing is that in the approximate 48 hours the charging system software was locked up, car battery went from 77% to 60% charge, without the car being used.
Presume the OTA update took place whilst I was in and out of the car and got confused!
