I think, dealer will always say all is impossible

But I don't think so

I guess you're always free to source the parts and fit them to prove the dealer wrong

I suspect the lighting strip/modules are different between ambient light and non-ambient light....parts seem to be available...fitting them? Good luck:

Then the system will inevitably need software updates etc. Which will require a PIWIS system (expensive and complicated if you don't have one or can't find someone to help).

What man made, man can take apart and put together again. Whether it's cots prohibitive to do so is a different matter.

I won't have ambient light.

I would like to add cup holder light ambient.

If this is a new car MY25+ then isn't ambient lighting now standard across the range?

Ambient lighting option adds light to other areas of the car and not just the cup holder. I doubt you can be selective and would have to add all components.

As others have said the cost would be prohibitive in terms of labour and required tooling.

Do you know what parts I have to change?

Aren’t they in an earlier post - trouble is VW group use different wiring sometimes when different options are specified and then there will be recoding which is now highly complicated- cost will way exceed any perceived benefit imho.
