Hey all:

Just joined and I'm super stoked. Basically, I haven't had a nice car in over 10 years and even my wife says I deserve it. So I'm getting a Taycan. Every Porsche owner I know has had their car for years, and I'd like to do the same, so I decided to custom order exactly what I want. I'm not in a rush, so I don't mind waiting. Here's the build code for it: http://www.porsche-code.com/PPMI7WH7. (I LOVE yellow!)

You'll see I didn't go with the PDCC, and now I'm debating whether I should. Thoughts? Also, when I spoke the SA at my local dealership, he made it seem like there's room for negotiation. I know the market has significantly dropped, but is it possible to squeeze out a 5% discount? I look forward to hearing y'alls thoughts!

Delete mobile charger connect - there are issues with the porsche chargers that only allow them to charge at half speed. Even if there weren't issues, it's not worth it. Car already comes with a free charger and the upgrade doesn't offer much extra functionality

I'd add PTV+ before I added PDCC

Otherwise looks like a pretty good, albeit high spec for 4S

I may be crazy here, but the Taycan was my first nice car ever and I ended up selecting almost every option. I find that, for me, not going all out is more likely to lead to regrets as compared to going overboard.

With that said, I'd at least consider the Performance Package, Massage Seats and even Night Vison Assist (OK, that last one might be a stretch, but I enjoy it even though it is largely unnecessary for me).

If I could go back I would end up ordering even more options.

Thanks both of you... I definitely went with all the options I wanted. I might reconsider the perf package and the PTV+. I think I got a bunch of stuff that came in the perf package anyway. The massage seats aren't my thing for sure (I've tried them and never really liked them) but now I have to double check that I got vented seats. I'm in Atlanta and I'd use them 6 months out of the year!

Hi Sunil,

May be Atlanta is living in a parallel world of 5% discounts and no rush on ordering the Taycan but not too far here in Indianapolis there are no discounts, no slots, and anyone's money does not mean a thing if Porsche cannot make the cars. I have my call it fictitious (= no build slot) order since May 2022 for 2023 when it was possible to make a 2023 order and I still do not have a slot for a Turbo technically not competing with RWD/4S/GTS orders and I am "the list" per my SA, but I am empty handed for months regardless of being a dealership VIP. All November US slots, total of 8, went to California.

Otherwise, very clean build with clear direction on where you are going with it and getting what you want. There are a few options you did not choose, so if you have a question of about one or another then it would be good to ask and forum will chime in. You asked about PDCC and I agree that PTV+ would be priority over PDCC and more suited for a higher trim level for mostly track runs.

Definitely get the ventilated seats for Hotlanta. You'll also need UV-rejecting and heat-rejecting window tint as dark as your state allows. Consider paint-protection film (PPF) and ceramic coating for protection and easy cleaning.

Your dealer may be able to arrange to install these before you take delivery, but make sure the prices are reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I'll be honest, I wasn't 100% sure if my SA was being totally upfront. I didn't know it was that bad. I'll swing by the dealership this weekend and double check.

it is so bad that all recent orders came without amplifiers for Bose and BM audio regardless of the model and they cannot release them to customers. I would not be waiting a minute even if your build is not final and put the order in with a deposit so you are in line. You can change your buid as many times as you want up to a freeze date. He may be playing you, so you hesitate and not overload the order book.

Man that is nuts. I'm going this weekend with the wife to put down the deposit.

Not the color I would do, especially paying for PTS but to each their own. Judging by your name, i guess you're Indian. I'll be the first to call you a rotten banana in that car. All love from one Indian to another of course. ?

I think the options are fine.

If the budget allows and if you're buying to own it for a while. Why not upgrade to the GTS or Turbo? You'll enjoy them even more and they will hold value better too.

Do not get the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, or any other optional Porsche EVSE. Buy a good EVSE from a good EVSE manufacturer. Porsche EVSE's have problems. Lost of threads on this forum about this topic. For example: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...uide-to-the-porsche-evse-pmc-pmcc-pwcc.13886/
See posts on forum for good EVSEs. I have Wallbox Pulsar Plus 40amp and am happy with it.
Also lots of EVSE reviews on youtube channel "state of charge".

Taycan 4S comes standard with summer tires. Consider no-cost option of all-season tires, in wheel accessories section.

Hey all, I wanted to say thanks for the advice. I went to the dealership on Monday and put my deposit down. We played around with going with GTS given all of the upgrades, but it consistently came out to over 12-14k more and I just didn't think it would be worth it in the long run. I did, however, decide to go with both PTV and PDCC.

The SA was fairly confident I would have an allocation by Feb at the latest, but who knows? ?‍♂
Once I get the allocation, I'll re-review the build with a fine tooth comb (and re-evaluate my budget) to see if there's anything I want to add or remove. I'm looking really deeply at the charger options now. Thanks for the points there.

By the way, yes I'm East Indian (though born here in the states) so now I may change my username to rottenbanana, I kinda like it!
