(yes i just posted a different message on heavy traffic driving - they're related but i thought different enough for two posts)

my Porsche connect expires and i'm being a snotty toddler throwing a tantrum and refuse to spend $300+ a year on it... (i said that b/c i can't look at the app for my driving efficiency now)

I'm trying to calculate my range/efficiency - and I'm looking at this number - BECAUSE MY RANGE DISPLAYED CENTER OF DASH IS WAY WAY WAY OFF

Porsche Taycan Dash display of "CONSUM. ___kWh/100mi" - do ya'll find this precise and usable? dash

This is a random picture at a random time - normally, my number is MUCH MUCH MUCH worse/higher than this.

My question to ya'll - are you seeing a correlation on this data and your overall range?

if you're getting 230 miles on 100% charge are you seeing 42 kWh/100mi? if you're getting 300 miles on a full charge are you seeing 32kWh/100mi ?

(i'm doing these calculations with a usable 97 kWh battery calculation)

is anyone seeing numbers like 70-110 kWh/100mi ??????? - IF SO - WHAT KIND OF DRIVING ARE YOU DOING?

I'll be interested to see others' replies on this. The only time I've seen numbers higher than the mid-30s is immediately after starting and driving off, even at low to moderate speeds, at which time I might see mid-40s+.

We have moved and until we move into a home where I can charge, I've been using Range mode to minimize trips to an Electrify America charging station. When the weather was warm, even with a start in the high 30 kWh or low 40s, I could drive at normal suburban speeds and see numbers like 26 kWh/100 miles.

We traded our '23 Taycan GTS for a '25 GTS as part of a Porsche "special opportunity", and these numbers are better than with the '23, although I never used Range mode on the '23 GTS and was seeing 33.3 as a target.

Now with temperatures in the 30s and low 40s, the best I can see in Range mode is mid-30s. I am not using auto-regen as I prefer to coast benefitting from the hilly terrain. (Once we have home charging, I'll return to using Sport mode and deploying regen with the diamond button to simulate engine braking when approaching an interesting corner, etc.)

As advertised, range in the '25 is better than the '23, and the estimates of usage appear more accurate. Doing the math using the % charge and displayed range, it appears that a 100% charge would indicate up to 320-330 miles in Range mode, slightly less in Normal mode (probably based on my most recent driving style). For example, on one occasion at 50% SOC, range in Range mode was 142 and 139 in Normal mode! Same day, same time, just a twist of the knob difference!

I've been paying attention to my numbers - and what people are saying here is what i'm seeing. For the first minute or two or three there's no reading on this, but then it starts somewhere 90-110kWh/100mi range, and drops as i drive. I guess it's just that my drive is so short that it doesn't drop much. But if i have a little longer trip than normal it does go to below 50.

And a cool thing - even if you stop it - and have a short rest (sometimes 90 minutes, sometimes 30) it will include your next excursion as a continuation of the first. meaning - i drive to work, and it's only at 65kWh/100mi - if i run an errand in 45 minutes most of the time it continues from 65kWh/100mi and drops further, versus restarting at 100/110.

So maybe this is an accurate reading and gauge as to efficiency....
