They added it on their system? I got an email welcoming me to my Porsche App.. when I logged in I could see my car. (And the VIN number, build spec etc) the app also tells you it establishes a connection to the car and the car is communicating..
Out of interest Iain, when did you receive the invitation to log into the My Porsche app?

For reference, before taking delivery of my first Taycan, I was advised by my dealer to not log into My Porsche prior to them setting up the vehicle at the dealership. Apparently doing so before they link the vehicle to your account on the Porsche server before you link to the Porsche account on the Porsche server from your phone can create conflicts that makes the My Porsche app buggy thereafter in terms of comms for the vehicle. Not sure if things have changed with later software builds.

My own My Porsche app showed my new car as being ‘readied for factory release (graphic provided, no photos) last week. However, now, all reference to the new car has vanished. Yet, my old Taycan still seems to be connected to my app despite this having long since been returned to the dealership. For now, I’m just going to sit tight. I’d rather be patient than give the buggy Porsche software any more reason to be error prone.

Dealer has e-mailed back to confirmed car is still at Emden and the feedback they are getting is its semi conductor related but that is all they will tell them so actually now no nearer other than he has confirmed Matrix lights are fitted then went on to add has there been any reports of these lights being removed just don't understand why Porsche don't liaise better with the Dealers like I said earlier if not fitted then car is not acceptable also only prepared to wait so long for car as its not good sat in salt docks
Did Preston confirm your vehicle still has the shipping block on Gary? Apparently mine’s been removed and may be hitting a boat tomorrow (hopefully not literally). Can’t think yours will be far behind mine. You may want to complain to Porsche GB. Seemed to suddenly see mine get fitted with the missing parts, unless it was a huge coincidence. Will let you know as soon as mine lands, and whether the matrix lights are on. If they are, I’d safely assume yours are.

Does anyone have a link for Behind the Scenes? There’s nothing on the App Store or for UK customers that I can find.
It’s only available for recent orders and is visible on MyPorsche app. I don’t have it. My order was July 21 , building now. Ready Feb 20-25.th. Not all dealers had It to start with. And it’s only a very recent thing for the U.K. You need to receive a link from your dealer. If they don’t have one then it’s not available to you at this time.

The dealership sent me the link mid build of my car.. I already had the app from my Macan, so on logging in and confirming the link to the new Taycan? Again I think the dealership ‘enabled something’

Thanks for confirming Iain.

Gary - I’m assuming you haven’t received one of these links from Preston? Have to say, for the reasons I mentioned in an earlier post from today, I’m not going to chase for a link just yet.

I think the key metric is the build date rather than the order date. It definitely seems to be that any vehicles built in 22 don’t have matrix fitted. That said, I’m now on pins to see if mine arrives with or without them having concluded build in the third week of Dec 21.
Thats a good point well spotted but we will see just starting to lose confidence

Dealer just said waiting for semi conductors as per earlier post so no idea at all but but getting less confident with Porsche

Apparently so. Dealership confirmed it’s aboard the Neckar Highway, which set sail this afternoon to arrive at Grimsby tomorrow afternoon.

Perhaps more of interest to you Gary, I asked the dealership to run a check to confirm that the vehicle had been built with Matrix lights fitted. They confirmed it had. ?

Just to share that I had an allocation slot available for April this year but was told if I take it I won't get the matrix lights. If I don't take the April slot then there is no view on when I will get an allocation with matrix lights available as an option (applies to all variants of the lights).

Would you take the April slot or wait for another day when matrix lights are available? I'm inclined to wait so that I get what the car that I want.

There does appear to be increasing credence to the fact that any non Turbo / Turbo S vehicle built from Jan 1 2022 doesn’t have Matrix at present. As to your own predicament, as someone who has only ever spec‘d cars for the past 20 years with the most powerful lights available, I couldn’t accept one without. Ultimately, they are like your eyes at night. Unless, of course you do little driving at night. However, here in the UK, given our lovely weather and short winter daylight hours, night driving can dominate. In your circumstances, I’d up-spec from a 4S to a Turbo. That way you can be sure to gain the MAtrix PDLS+ lights I believe.

Personally I would definitely take the April slot as I find the standard lights are really good.
And it may be some time before the chip shortage is sorted out.

If you really want the matrix lights you can re order whenever things are back to normal (?) - but with growing wait lists and delays this may be a couple of years away anyway.
But if things change more quickly, your used Taycan might still be worth a premium used.

Would you be prepared to wait that long? By then you may even be eyeing up the Taycan replacement.

All depends how much you need a car and how long you are prepared to wait.

It's really not good. As you and others have said, it's the lack of communication that adds frustration. We were about to put a deposit down on a 911 but the experience with this order, issues with my partners Macan (gts, just 6 months old), and even more ridiculous wait times than even the Taycan, mean that we are holding off to look at alternatives.
The communication from start to finish in this whole order process has been pathetic!
The only exception was the smiley happy face of the salesman when I first walked in and placed the order and the original comms re deposit etc.
Put my deposit down 6th Sept and was told delivery could be December.
I guess I’m now looking at March April if I’m lucky.
I only get dealer comms when I chase them.
Otherwise nothing!!
BTW the government £350 grant towards cost of a home charger finishes at end of March.
Even if you haven’t yet rec your car you can get the grant by showing official orders form etc

That's great news keep me up to date and let me know if matrix has been fitted still no nearer with mine but hopefully soon Presumably they fit the PTS semiconductors at the docks?
