Disabling Apple Carplay

Hi

Is there a way to plug in the Iphone so that it charges in the car but does not use Apple Carplay? The only reason I don't like Apple Carplay is because recently, there has been a change in apps like Waze where the speed cameras and other certain icons do not show up in the Apple car display map until you are a few seconds away from it, then they suddenly appear.

The phone screen still shows all of these icons on its map however when the phone is plugged into Apple carplay, the satnav apps like Waze and Google Maps do not show the maps on the phone screen anymore, they only show a list of written directions since the car is displaying the map.

So I would like to keep the phone plugged in charge while using the phone screen to show the map and hear the directions/music through the car speakers.

Go to your iPhone settings -> general -> carplay. FInd your Taycan. You can then uncheck Carplay. You can also forget the car on your iPhone and it will ask you next time you plug it in if you want to use Carplay or not.

That's great thank you! Do you know if there is a way around the Waze/Google Maps apps where we can plug the car in with Apple Carplay and still try to get the map to display on both the car screen and the Iphone screen?

In the PCMs device menu click on the carplay icon next to your phone’s name if its lit. My car seems to remember It was switched off or on.

Plug your charging cord into one of the USB-C outlets between the rear seats. Those are power only and not connected to the media system. They are a short distance to your phone in the front console or cupholder.
