Do you pay every year for Porsche Nav Updates ?

So, I was in the showroom today and they said, all the software updates are free, but you have to bring the car to the showroom.
Can anyone confirm, how much does it takes to update the software in service centre ? I forgot to ask this to the person in showroom.

And they said, the nav updates are only given once and then per year, you have to pay round 300 USD, which was steep.

I think, I wont be paying for this asking for nav updates for a price, is plain absurd.
I would simply copy paste the lat long to the Porsche pcm nav and it will anyways take to the waypoint.
No need to pay for it.

In the UK, I think nav updates are included for the first 3yrs (as part of Porsche Connect or similar which is included for 3yrs?).

I'm not sure what level of other updates are also available over the air (OTA)....I'd imagine there will be somethings that cannot be done OTA, but would expect those to be included regardless.
