My dealer recently had to replace an Active Ride control module. The car was in the shop for 2 months (Argh - I'll do another post on that experience) and when I got it back last week there are a couple of things with Porsche Active Ride Comfort Access that seem different and just wanted to check with others.

There is a humming sound coming from the rear while the car is in the up position of PAR Comfort Access. I'm not sure if this is normal and I don't remember it (but it has been 2 months so maybe I forgot it). Do others with PAR Comfort Access hear this? I'm guessing it's the pump(s) but it's humming the entire time the car is in the up position (for example when the doors are open).

I'm also guessing the dealer needs to do some calibration or something because the passenger side front rises and falls more slowly than the other 3 corners. And the rise and fall overall seem slower than before.

I don't daily drive one with active ride, but as far as I remember from my test drives, no, there is no sound once it reaches a specific position (all the way up or all the way down) and settles into it, so a few seconds after. It of course, makes a noise while it still adjusts.

Something definitely sounds wrong with yours, and if it makes sound constantly, it leads me to think that it constantly tries to adjust for some setting it can't actually reach.

Would definitely have the dealer look at it again.

In my experience, active ride is split second fast, so it adjusting more slowly than before... leads me to believe that even before it wasn't working properly. If it takes longer than literally one second, something ain't right.

Yes, mine makes a small sound while it is lifted in response to doors being open. Almost as though it has to keep pumping air into something in order to keep the vehicle lifted. Let me know if it turns out to be abnormal. I think the video above shows the continual sound.
It lifts super fast (usually giving one of us a surprise as we forget it is going to do this!), then when the door is closed it settles down more gently.

By the way we have just taken our Turbo Sport Turismo around some very twisty mountain roads in Spain, at speed, and Active Ride has been fabulous. Significantly reduced roll for both passenger and driver; rough bits of the road smoothed out well; and still a gripping Porsche-like driving experience.

Mine makes a slight noise, pretty sure a low hum, at the raised comfort access position, will double check tomorrow.

Mine also had the dropping at different rates problem after they changed a front strut on warranty, I don't use the comfort access mode so it did not bother me. They corrected it when the second strut was replaced. Sounds like they have not calibrated yours properly after the module change. My car is the only one the dealer has experienced with Active Ride so the techs are learning on it o_O .

Thank you! The video sound while the car is up is similar to mine so it's probably fine and it seems it is similar to yours. The lifting on mine probably needs to be calibrated since the passenger front is delayed a little.

Also, yes, I agree Active Ride is surreal in how it softens the ride yet improves the sports handling. Pretty cool!

Thanks! I'm guessing my dealer hasn't seem many with PAR either unfortunately. But don't worry, they are gold certified 🤪

I just checked mine. It makes the loud moderate pitched "whrrrrrrrr" as you can hear in the video posted earlier, and if I go up to the wheel wells, the two back ones are also making a separate, softer, higher-pitched mechanical whirring sound of their own. Very faint.

I haven't had any troubles with my AR, so I'd say whatever I'm hearing should be appropriate.

Mine seems to make a louder sound, but It could be because it's in my garage

Mine also makes the humming sound. If you leave the door open for over a minute or two it eventually stops from my experience cleaning the interior. I've thought about deactivating comfort access because I don't find it that useful getting in and out, and I figure less wear and tear, but it is a cool little party trick that catches people by surprise.

I think that Comfort Entry is kid's play compared to the actions the pumps have to take constantly while driving as they play the role of electrohydraulic sway bars.

All the time, no matter which drive mode you are in.

Whirring sounds to raise the car, constant humming sound (from each of the four pumps, i suppose) to maintain it. It only stops when the car goes back down.
Thank you! That’s exactly how mine sounds so I guess all’s good.

Mine makes a humming noise while lifter. AND has been in the shop for two of the 9 months I have owned it. Another typical Taycan "beta test" the technology with consumers approach. And they still don't really know what the issue is....

confirming mine also hums, it's clear the noise is normal.
