Got this warning recently after using the key for a year. Seemed accurate as I noticed that the red light on the key wouldn't flash when I pressed a button – though it still was working in the car.
I changed out the battery using a named brand Duracell CR2032 battery. The red light on the key is back flashing – suggesting a new strong battery replaced occured.
However, for past few days, each time I enter the car I get the same warning – as if the battery wasn't changed.
Any ideas?
