Seems interesting and would be nice to have both remote and home charging all in one place (one app). That said, I could not find anything about this charger having power balancing/load sharing (like how the Enel-X Juicebox has). I reached out to Electrify America and they said someone would be in touch with me via phone sometime within the next week to answer all of my questions... That was a week ago… And haven’t heard a peep. figured I would try here.
I do see that it is “OCPP 1.6+ JSON Compliant”, which I think is needed for power balancing/load sharing, correct? So even if it does not come with it as standard, maybe a future software update... but at least it’s enabled? My other front runner was the ChargePoint HomeFlex, which I also know does not do power balancing/load sharing, and I could not find if it was OCPP 1.6 compliant or not. So not sure if it could be updated in the future which is slightly holding me back. Last but not lease is the Juicebox pro 40… Which does have power balancing/load sharing, but I have heard of some reliability issues with this. If the Electrify America HomeStation also has this feature, and is all in the same app as the DC fast charging I would primarily be using, all the better and that’s likely my winner!
I plan on keeping the Porsche Mobile Charger Plus (that comes standard with the MY2021 Taycan) in the trunk for remote charging.
Edit: link to the install manual that references the OCPP compliance and more... https://www.electrifyhome.com/media...llation-and-Operation-Manual-1.0.4 012921.pdf
