Early planning stages for Taycan

Morning all

Have just joined the forum having decided a Taycan is my next car. Planning for Q1 2023 when my existing lease on an S4 expires. Already browsed the forum and found it a useful source of information.

Have already test driven at local dealership (Cambridge) and spoken about lead times, thinking I need to order about 10 months in advance.

A few initial questions (sorry if they are obvious answers !) ;

- Are Taycan prices 'fixed' ? ie no point in shopping round. With my S4 i negotiated a £4k reduction off of list by using CarWow and playing off dealerships.
- Thinking along lines of GTS (didn't realise all the upgrade options ! dealer tells me average upgrades are around £15k !). Am I better off going for a 4S and upgrading ?
- I have been told by dealer that the battery upgrade is a must, not sure why ?

You will get plenty of input here for sure.
- I would be VERY surprised if you got anything off the list price in the UK at the moment. You may just get a set of rubber mats.... or a low cost option thrown in but you will have to try very hard. If you're dealing with a lease company then its down to the general lease pricing isnt it? (sorry I dont lease normally).
- Porsches are well know for their price structure (and profit). Dealer is about right on that value of options. If you're leasing then they will amortise the cost of most extras over the lease period so may not economical way of doing it. In which case go for a higher base spec (e.,g GTS)
- Have a read in the forum on if the PB+ is worth it or not. There is a thread all about it. Weight vs performance and range. Quite interesting and not what you'd expect.
