First time Porsche buyer and my build is scheduled to start 5/7/22 with a 7/8/22 delivery in San Diego. Just out of curiosity, what happens if your build gets delayed due to availability of parts say until August? Do they literally shutdown the factory mid-build and pick it up again a month later?

Yes, they are closing the factory during summer holidays (for two weeks, if I remember right) and to prepare lines for new model year.

A lot of Taycan like mine were half build last year in July and then finished in November.
So yes, they can stop at anytime but I hope it won't be the case for you.
