Last night I left my Taycan plugged in with a timer set to charge to 80% by 7.00am. This is a procedure I have successfully used for the last couple of years. This time however in the morning no charge had gone into the car, still at approx 50%. I still wanted to drive the car but before I set off I received a notice that I was to install a software update. I have seen infotainment/map updates successfully automatically installed.

However this update was different, something to do with the charging of the high voltage battery I believe. I should have paid more attention and taken a pic of the screen.

I followed the instructions and sure enough a message saying update was installing and would take a few minutes. After a few minutes it reported update installed.

I plugged the car in to my 7kw charger and after a few minutes it reported that charging was not possible. The car still drives so I drove to my workshop and tried charging with the Porsche supplied charger. Still no luck. I have tried both charging ports to no avail.

Contacted my local Porsche dealer at Exeter and they fobbed me to Porsche Assistance as they, P.A, would be able to supply me with a courtesy car. However since my car had about 124 miles of range in the battery an was still driveable they would not be able to provide a car. Back to Porsche Exeter and am awaiting a courtesy car to become available before I drive my car to the service center.

I have also tried rebooting the system, still will not charge.
