FoD in the UK...

Hi,
Having specified my 4S based on a contract hire company budget I noticed that some of those expensive options are now available via the FoD in the connect content. So to clarify, I can upgrade after the event for say Lane Assist on a subscriptive basis? Bit of a game changer if so.. Imagine Tesla wondering how their autopilot cost would stack up IF porsche did that ota!

Probably (maybe) yes, but be aware that some options require other equipment to already be fitted e.g. Innodrive requires Adaptive Cruise I believe. Not sure about LCA.

True - I guess they could have less LIDAR/RADAR/Cams etc in the base models without the extra hardware bits given the high cost.

Anyone know if the electric sound would be FoD. At the time I wasn't too sure so didn't spec it. Thought it was a gimmick and may be it still is but its growing on me. Would be nice to know

Seen a bit of a debate on another thread about whether it's purely software sampling (and therefore a FoD option in theory) or an actual motor noise that is sampled and amplified. Not clear as yet! Likewise I would probably put it on after the event if possible.

I think I'll do just that and see if its available after. I might be wrong but if think it would be software sampling. Thank you for replying

This is lots of work, speakers and cabels to be installed.
around 2000 EURO plus tax in cost.. 1-2 days at the workshop

Regarding the Porsche Sport Sound, I suspect all the hardware is already present or at least most of it. From car manufacturers side, that is the whole point with FoD - payable software upgrades that is.

I could be wrong, but time will tell
