Heated seats

I’ve trawled the manual and this site, but can’t find the answer. Sorry if it’s really obvious, but I’d appreciate some advice.

3 days into ownership of my 4S and whichever way I start my journey: unlocking with my key fob, keyless entry or pre set airon, the seat heats up. Unfortunately I only realise this once it’s warm! Is there any way to set this to off?

They say it comes with the timer or pre-conditioning. No idea how to switch it off though since my 4S hasn't been delivered yet.

You can update the preheat temp and heated seats via app.

More specifically, you can select which zones to pre-heat / pre-cool in the app and in the PCM. However the driver's seat, steering wheel (if you have the option) and air temperature are all tied together - either all on or all off. What works though is pre-conditioning all other zones - the passenger seat heater may come on but not the drivers.

Thanks for that, but I’m still unsure. Is it not possible to have warmed air without feeling like you’ve wet yourself?

Check your pre-heat settings within the vehicle settings (on PCM). There is an option to automatically switch on when you unlock the car which you may / may not want.

Preheat is also part of a profile / timer if you have these enabled via in car settings, the Porsche Connect App or My Porsche web site regardless of anything else.

If not done so already download the Porsche Good To Know app for further details.

Steering wheel heating (and possibly seat heating) may come on automatically depending on ambient air temp e.g. 3C or less.

I’ve done this, so let’s see. Our temps have remained below 5deg over the last few days, so it may be as Winge says: automatic due to weather. I only ordered the heated seats for my wife!

Update. I’ve just gone out and unlocked using key. As soon as system started, both seats on second setting. Despite the fact that I’ve turned them off on the app as per the above pic.
It’s snowing, so I’m accepting your theory winge. Comes on whether you like it or not in very low temperatures. But surely we should be able to override it somehow. I can’t be the only person who hates heated seats?

Did you check the preheat on unlocking option as well? This is not in the app but on PCM. If the option is there and not ticked then it is temp related.
