Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone has seen this happen: After leaving the car plugged in for a couple of days while I was away, I had a hard time getting the passenger side charge port door to latch closed. It eventually latched shut, but now it wont open. It feels like it's permanently locked. Driver's side works fine. Of course, to add to the pain, the side that wont open is the DC charger port, so I'm stuck with AC charging only for now.

Has anyone seen this and/or have any magic to get the door latch to release? I'd like to save a dealer visit if this can be resolved with a screwdriver and a beer.

There is a method for each type of charge port door - powered or manual.

If manual there is a tool in the frunk for opening (check the section in the Porsche Good To Know App for details on use).

If powered then there is a 'rip cord' to pull inside the door frame - again check the Porsche Good To Know App for more details on use).
