update - issue found and fixed

Porsche Taycan FIXED - Charge port reported open when closed 1684262101763


There must be a link between the offset and nearside actuators since both doors would not lock. This is unexplained for now.

The symptoms were
Porsche Taycan FIXED - Charge port reported open when closed 1684262405054


Right charge port open

then when opening the nearside port
Porsche Taycan FIXED - Charge port reported open when closed 1684262482484

"Both charging ports open - Close one port to charge"

and

Porsche Taycan FIXED - Charge port reported open when closed 1684262538582


"Charging not possible" with external red led showing.

It is not surprising that it was a faulty sensor on that door - it is a pity there was no manual workaround to get you out of trouble

Not being able to charge when the car thinks both doors are open is per design - there are safety and other reasons for it. I am also surprised that a dealer was unable to make a temporary solution by either tricking the car that the door is closed, or maybe swapping actuators so that DC side was always open, and AC side always closed.

On our test drive we had something different - "Charge port degraded" or similar - the dealer said this was due to a problem with the car not recognising the door was open. So same attributed cause, different symptoms perhaps.

Thanks for sharing the problem situation and the fix. Being unable to DC charge when 1200 miles from home is a bad situation.
You mentioned that the dealer in Spain was unable to determine a fix and had to contact Germany. Did that dealer not get a prompt response? is that why you decided not to have the car repaired in Spain?
Several times you mentioned that you were not able to get either charge port door locked. What did that mean? The doors would not physically close? Or, the doors would close but could be opened even when car was locked? Or, the doors would close, not open when the car was locked, but instrument panel showed the physically locked doors were "open"?

There is a 48 hour turn around time for requests to Germany apparently. We decided it was too uncertain to wait for an answer.

When you lock the car the charging port doors should lock too. This had failed. I don't know yet why neither would lock. Apart from that the charging port doors opened and closed as normal.
