Looking for some help, dropped the glovebox key down the side of the driver seat and its hidden under the rail. Several people have tried to move seat and lock for it without luck. Only way to retrieve that key is to remove the seat. Can't seem to find any info/videos out there.

Has anyone done this before?

At least losening seats is fairly easy on many cars. Look up instructions on youtube for Porsche 911. Move up to reveal the rear bolts, move back to reveal the front. Probably don't need to unplug anything. But before doing that, I'd get a magnet tool at harbor freight. But test it first on your spare key to make sure its magnetic.

I dropped a couple of things down the side of my Taycan drivers seat over the years.

Some things got stuck under the rail.

After spending ages trying different things, I found some very long (flexible) cable ties in my garage and was able to push the objects out by sliding and wiggling the cable tie from the top underneath the rail.

A good torch was also useful.

a flashlight and a couple zip ties blinding poking around under the rails and in between did the job. Pushed it all the way to the back and removed front and rail covers..... key came out.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Glad i didn't have to remove the seat.... but now have a few extra amazon tools to return.
