TLDR: When I got the car the AC charging was broken and never worked with any of my appartments chargers and including the charger that came with the car.
They refused to fix it and said it is a problem with the chargers I am using because they see no faults on their computer. But i know there is a problem because my charger and chargepoint in my appartment works with my friend's taycan and not mine. mine seems to not work at 99 percent of public and appartment ac chargers. it does seem to work at just specifically the really advanced 12 kw charger at porsche with the screen but does not work for any other ac charger from what I see. everytime I charge the car it just says "error charging not possible" and the thing turns red.
What do I do?
Timeline and every detain of this situation:
My situation is very complicated. I got my porsche taycan 2024 base model at porsche marin oct 5, 2024. It is september 22, 2025 right now. When i got the car everything was fine and then i realised the ac charging just doesn't seem to work. They recalled my car due to a headlight issue 1 month after getting the car around november 2024. I asked them to fix the ac charging issue at that time because they might as well and they said they would fix it. I got my car back and they did not fix anything and ac charging at my appartment still doesn't work. This wasnt the biggest problem for me because at this time i was at uc davis and I had DC charging electrify america really close to my appartment and campus. after a couple of months I went to porsche sacremento to get my ac charging fixed. I sent it in to service and they gave me a loaner car. and then after like 3 days they gave it back and they said its working and no faults in the charging port. i got it back and nothing was fixed. ac charging still doesnt work on campus and at my appartment. I sent it in again one month later and I told them they didnt fix it properly. they said they will check it out. they did an inspection again at porsche sacremento and said no faults in the charger but i told them this cant be because it doesnt work with the changer that came with the car and they just said my charger doesnt work and it works with their more advanced home charger and when i asked them can I have this advanced home charger they just said they have none left. so supposedly my charger that CAME WITH THE CAR doesn't work, but my friend with a taycan also 2024 tried it and it works with his car. Since at this time dc charging wasnt that big of an issue it didnt bother me that much. after summer in august i came back. Now I am at UC Berkeley and there is no dc charging near my appartment. So i went to porsche marin, the place where i got my car and also the nearest dealership to berkeley to get it fixed. They gave me a loaner car and started fixing it. I told them to test it with the charger that came with the car and to test it at chargepoint (the appartment chargers also AC). After around 5 days they contacted me saying there are no faults in the charging and says it works with the charger that came with the car. And then after I told them to send a video of the charger that came with the box not working, because i know they are lying and didnt even try, and then on my app I just see error charging not possible, which was them trying to charge my car with my charger that came with the car. So they got back to me and said the charging isnt working with the charger that came with the box and they said they will work with a technician on monday and get back to me. after around a week they got back to me and just said it was the charger that doesnt work and they will give me a new charger that works. This is pointless because they arent fixing anything. If they gave me one of those advanced wall chargers that do work i have no where to charge it. All I want is for my car to work with the Chargepoint chargers or the simple level 1 and level 2 chargers. I told them also to show me that it works at chargepoint and they refused to show me saying they cant do that because they can't be authorised to go to chargepoint with my car and try it. I just got my car back and they gave me a new charger that is useless to me and nothing has changed. my ac charging is still not working with chargepoint. When i told my service advisor he said it is a problem with the chargepoint and its compatibity and when i told him my friends taycan works with this charger and in fact any ac charger on campus or even in california, he just said that is his cars problem and some bullshit about his car not being up to date. I told him its definitly a problem with the sockets onboard charger because i read a forum online from someone with the exact same problem as me but he just said he cant fix that under warranty if there are no faults on the charge port and when he checked my cars charge ports there were no faults and it works with their advnaced charger at the dealership. What do I do in this situation. I believe I have gotten a lemon car. - another side note, they said i damaged their loaner car, but i dont think it was that bad. I would be fine paying for any minor damages but i am not cool with the fact that they didnt even fix my car properly what do I do?
