Hi everyone,

Just recently bought my first electric car. I’m look at having a home charging port installed.

I’m currently looking at the Easee One (https://proev.co.uk/easee-one) & The Zappi (https://proev.co.uk/myenergi-zappi).

Is there any advantage of using one over the other? The car is a Tesla if that helps.

Thank you,

Sam

The main advantage of the Zappi (which I have) is that it integrates perfectly with Solar production. Never heard of the other one but from a quick look at the specs it mentions nothing about being able to use Solar energy to charge the car.

I am biased obviously but think the Zappi is a fantastic piece of kit, but if you do not have Solar or do not intend to get it in the future then maybe go with the other one…though even then I would still say Zappi all day!

Bit late but I've just had the Easee Home fitted (Not the Easee One).

It was also between the Zappi and the Easee for me.

At the moment Easee doesn't do solar so if you plan to do solar in the near future then go Zappi.

However I went for the Easee as the Easee home can accept 1ph (7KW charging) and 3ph (11-22kw charging) electric supply whereas the Zappi you have to buy the specific unit for the electric supply. As I have 3ph electric coming into my house but into a 1ph meter and board I will not need to change the charger when I change the meter and board to accept 3ph.

The Easee also allows you to daisy chain 2 additional chargers (3 in total) on the same electric feed.

If you do decide on the Easee make sure you know which one you are getting as the Easee home that I got installed accepts both 1ph and 3ph but needs PEN fault protection installed. The Easee One has PEN fault protection built in but will only accept 1ph electric.
