Both can be true depending on the sort of driver and roads.

The idea that it isn't a Porsche without is absurd though, since at least 90% of Porsches were built without.
Let's be honest though, many people buy Porsches (or Ferrari, Lambo, etc) to show off. They don't go on spirited drives, and don't push the car even close to their potentials. Those people won't notice the suspension upgrades even if they had it. Am I wrong?

Absolutely.
That is why I noted depends on the driver and roads.
London has loads of supercars which are certainly the most stupid form of transport available in the city, for example.

Ferrari discovered long ago that the most important feature of their cars was for a fat, unfit person to be able to get in and out of the car.

If you want a driver's car, those are essential. Without it, the car feels like a Tesla. With it, you have a Porsche.

Depending on the trim, they are sold in a package called performance package.
I drove a complete base/base Taycan for a week as loaner.
It already felt better than Tesla ?
Tesla just has other priorities, can't really compare the two chassis.

I think you are correct, if people want to (regrettably) show off, drag race at lights and cruise in straight lines, they don't need these suspension performance items, no worries. There are also plenty of "all the gear and no idea" drivers out there.

If you want a nice car (Porsche) but have no desire/opportunity to drive up to the limit then for sure you don't need these upgrades at all. You will still own and enjoy a very nice car.
I also suspect there are quite a few owners out there who enjoy a spirited drive and do appreciate the performance upgrades.
Attached a recent track precision recording of a local road I like to use now and again. This is a climb of about 700 vertical metres.
I think I'm feeling/using the suspension benefits.
Also to note the RAS is not just about parking convenience, at higher speeds the rear wheels turn the same way (in parallel) to the fronts. With this system I notice an enhanced rotation on hairpins.
Dropping the kids off to school: less so !

Agreed.
1. Driver doesn't wave
2. Has amber side markers
3. Has a base Macan

Definitely bought a Porsche just for the brand.

No one waves in the UK, maybe just more reserved.

I actually am considering a Macan to replace the Taycan. Now I've a 911 as a toy, the Macan's increased practicality, higher suspension and much better price is very attractive. And yes, I like the brand and appreciate the quality ?tbh I don't see that as a bad thing

Base Macan?, well at least its aspirational
Amber side markers?, (ouch!) but we all make mistakes
No wave?, oh come on, I'm a waver and its free, if I see a Taycan on the autoroute or even better up a mountain pass, its getting a wave, nothing too enthusiastic mind you but yeah definitely raising a hand.
