I took delivery yesterday. Because of the inability to order while the Taycan factories are shut down, I searched existing new inventory and found what I wanted including battery plus, but it didn't include adaptive air suspension that I also wanted. Before I took delivery, I admit I had reservations not getting the S (none about not getting the Turbo which is clearly out of my price range), and wondered if the RWD would have sufficient power. Now that I've had time to drive it for a full day, I'm happy to report it drives like a dream and has way more power than I'll ever use driving around Asheville NC and surrounding areas like the Blue Ridge Parkway. In fact, given where and how I drive, I can't imagine what I'd do with the extra off the line acceleration of the S, I mean it's not exactly like I'm crawling when it takes me 2 more seconds to hit 60 from standstill compared to the S, and frankly I see zero use for launch control other than to show off the 2 engine HP. I also wonder what that kind of acceleration does to your brain floating in your skull when it suddenly hits the back of your skull.

I don't know how the car would feel had it been equipped with adaptive air suspension - I've heard that it floats like a cloud with that. However the steel spring suspension seems just fine to me, certainly better than my 2013 Mercedes SL 550 that I've been driving for the last 7 years. I've never before driven a Porsche (beyond the Taycan test drive I had before purchasing mine), so it's a complete revelation how the car seems so planted to the ground (even more so than my SL 550 which is very planted to the ground), and even better how it steers especially on all the winding roads up here in western NC. Even though I didn't get the optional leather trim I would have liked, I'm still suitably impressed with the Fit and finish that are top notch. I have a feeling I'll be sticking with the Porsche brand for the rest of my life

I love my RWD. The smooth ride (on springs and 21" wheels) the constant torque push and the comfort. Sticks to the road like it is on rails. I don't need mental acceleration. What am I going to do with that pottering around south east London? Paying for a 4S or Turbo would just be a massive waste of money. I can say I will only drive Taycans now. I have also become an EV snob who tuts at cars and their exhaust clouds at traffic lights.

I have had my 2022 RWD for about 5 weeks, similarly equipped as yours, and I feel exactly the same way.
