Hey guys,

Just had my 2023 Taycan wrapped in Carmine Red, and everything works/looks great besides the lane change assist/egress warning. The wrap guys took off the bumpers, mirrors, and door handles to make sure the wrap looked good. However, now I get this error message [refer to pic].

Any ideas what needs to be done? I've gone to Porsche San Francisco and they said it's probably a badly connected sensor cable. The wrap shop checked again and it's connected properly.

They also cut out the vinyl from the circular sensors from both bumpers and that didn't do the job in resolving the error message.

I went to Porsche Redwood City and they said the sensors need recalibrating and that's a $1.2k job plus another $1.3k job on top for some other calibration. They mentioned adaptive cruise (ACC and Innodrive), but that works fine. As well as the 360 surround view. Only the lane change indicators in the mirrors are not working for me.

My wrap shop called around some indie folks, and what I've been told is the sensor needs to be reprogrammed, but that's a $500-$600 job.

I'm not sure what to do since I don't want to drop $2k-$3k for the dealer to poke around and not fix anything. Car looks pretty sweet, though.

I'd give the independent shop a crack at it. Looks great overall, but now you need to swap out those wheels for some nice satin or gloss black aftermarket wheels.

I had my entire car wrapped in color change PPF - luckily haven’t had any of the issues you suggest. I think the shop that did the wrap is responsible and should pay to get it fixed.

I know the owner pretty well and they're solid dudes, they said they'll reimburse me for any work the dealer needs to perform.

I had my entire Cross Turismo covered in Xpel PPF. The shop removed the door/wing mirros to wrap the door. After re-installing the door mirrors, the Taycan kept giving an error similar to yours, but it was in German, so not entirely sure what the error message was. Install shop contacted the local Porsche dealership and they said the cameras and sensors needed recalibration. The detail shop paid for the recalibrations.

Detail shop was surprised by the need for recalibration, as they had recently wrapped an Audi RS e-Tron GT and they did not get any errors after replacing the wing mirrors.

Update for any folks wondering or potentially researching the same issue in the future. I took the car to Porsche SF and they had to clear the codes and reprogram the sensors. The entire job cost me $325 and the vinyl shop will reimburse me.

If anyone's curious, here's the Invoice sheet. Additional bonus for the battery sealant recall, they currently don't have the tooling to fix it.

Thanks for posting this. I just got my Taycan ST PPF'd last week and I got the same error code now popping up!

Looks like I'm going to have to get my sensors recalibrated as well, and hope the PPF shop reimburses me!

$325 seems pretty fair. I hope my local Porsche dealership doesn't charge me any more than this!

Btw, I had my PPF shop wrap my illuminated door sills in glossy 8 mil Xpel PPF. Changed the matte carbon fiber to a glossy look. I think it looks great!
