Looking for advice - PTS Order since late 2022

Hey all:

I put in an order for a Speed Yellow 4s back in Q4 2022 (don't have the exact date on hand, but it was pre-Christmas). I got a call in Feb saying they stopped all PTS for the model year and that it should restart with next MY (August I guess?). A couple of questions I haven't been able to get answered from my SA:

• Do we know if they'll allow PTS for MY24 in August?
• If so, is a 6 month delivery time a reasonable window? Can it, potentially be longer?
• Should I explore another dealer? My SA said they basically froze my pre-order so I should be in a pretty good spot when/if they reactivate the PTS, but since I'm still able to back out and get my deposit, I don't feel like he's been terribly responsive (kind of hedging his bets).

Any insight would be appreciated. I've dreamt about this car for so long, but this part of the process is definitely disheartening.

When I enquired about mine PTS would be another 3-6 months and they only get a certain number of PTS slots per year. I binned the idea and orderd a stock colour. I ordered my 4S In March 2022 and my build date is September 2023

As this is literally my first post on this forum, insight is probably too much to ask for. What I can offer is one lonely data point, which still needs to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt labeled "milestones and dates are non-binding and may vary in individual cases".

I placed an order for a PTS RWD at the beginning of June. Order tracker is estimating manufacture to begin top of October, Emden late October, Benicia around Thanksgiving, and delivery early December.

So six months is pretty much exactly what I'm seeing in terms of scheduling, but again, it remains to be seen what will happen from here on out.

You seem to have already taken the only bit of advice I would give you, which is to be prepared to effectively submit a final frozen order when you walk in the door of the dealership. My situation recently had some drama whereby I had to submit a final build last week, despite the ostensible freeze date still being listed as over a month out.

Thanks for the responses! I went to the dealership and spoke with my SA. He said the scuttlebutt was that the PTS builds would all be in one month (October). He submitted again for me and we got a freeze date of end of October and an ETA of early January. So we'll see! ?
